This volume control works perfectly. I replaced my 19 year old volume control that was making a distortion sound and is outside on my patio. This one was the same dimensions exactly so it fit right in the receptacle. The connectors are clearly marked input and output and are removable so you can make your connections easily and then connect them up to the unit. It also comes with three color knobs and cover to match your decor. Very satisfied as my sound is back to high fidelity. The instructions were clear also. Highly recommend.

I decided to replace my previous knob volume control (based on impedance matching) after one of the amplifier's channel of my Onkyo Receiver didn't work anymore, and I suspect that the culprit was the inductive coupling. So I decide to replace it by this resistive type, and this one, works perfect. One of the features I like is that has full volume at one end (direct connection, no resistors), meanwhile on the other end, the last step is disconnected (fully isolation of speakers), for great control. It comes with three different colors of covers and knobs to match your taste. It was easy to install, replacement was straightforward. Inputs/outputs on the device are well labeled and the screw connectors make it fast work, connectors also can be detached from the knob control, for easier cable hookup. Would have been perfect except for my ignorance. This volume control is rated at 100 W. My receiver's output is 250W. It worked for about 24 hours and then it "blew". I did not understand the significance of the wattage of the unit vs the wattage of my receiver. Amazon was nice enough to allow the return of the unit. I ordered the same product - same company , but the 300W model. It works perfectly! Lesson to be learned. Make sure that the wattage of the volume controller is more than the wattage of your receiver. Would definitely recommend for purchase - just get the right wattage model.

It's a quality product that is easy to install. I had trouble at first, but changed the impedance (receiver settings) and it was perfect. I'm running a 5.2.1 with the Volume knob controlling pool side speakers spliced with connectors to the front speaker output.

What I liked 1. It came with different color face plates - wasn't a separate purchase 2. The input and output wiring blocks were different colors - great aide to preventing miswire the volume control. 3. it works! What I didn't like 1. the wiring blocks once installed put the wires in towards the center of the volume control pressed up against the transformer creating a 90 degree angle to get the wires to clear the cut in mud ring. This puts strain on the wires to the wiring block, as well as strain on the wiring block to the mounting pins. 2. the exposed circuit board. this is potentially a serious issue if your installing in a commercial environment that have metal mud rings. Definitely not cool What I'm on the fence about The quality of the electronics is good, the nob and potentiometer doesn't feel like quality. But then again these aren't Niles or Russound and come in a 1/4 of the price. You get what you pay for.

I installed 6 of these. Each one was only controlling one speaker so I only used one channel. One of the speakers didn't work and when I switched the wires on that controller to the other channel it worked. Besides that they seem nice. They fit well in a remodel low voltage ring.

I researched many different volume control knobs offered on Amazon and decided to give this one a go! The installation was a breeze! You will need a box extender as these units are quite deep but they’re easy to find on Amazon! When it comes to the knob itself it is very well built, there’s no pausing in the audio when adjusting the level (as others have mentioned) and you won’t be disappointed! Note: The instructions could have been a little clearer when setting the impedance matching toggle... also, I didn’t see this mentioned anywhere but the higher you set the toggle example 1/2x -> 4x -> 8x you’ll notice a drop in the volume output from your speakers however that is to be expected! Overall, I was very happy with this control knob! Like the title says I ended up purchasing another one! The second one was a little temperamental at first but that was due to some wiring that needed to be replaced and due to a more powerful amplifier! I replaced some wires and reduced the volume on the amplifier and now all is awesome with this one too!

My old controls had yellowed and were crackling when turned so I bought these as replacements. Very happy with the decora style and the soft touch when turning the controls. Quality seems excellent. I would buy again.

Works as expected. Slider is a little flimsy. Instructions are useful. I would buy another one but it is not as good as the ones I already had installed by our home automation people when we had the house built.
