The Children's Book of Christmas Stories Paperback – August 28, 2007

I got this thinking that my 2 yr old niece could get excited about Christmas if we read the stories. She's a little young but very bright. I tried to get he to sit with me and just listed as I read but she was having none of it. Maybe if there were pictures I could have gotten her attention. I'll try again next year though.

Read ahead! Before you read the stories to your children, read them first. Most of the stories were interesting and delightful. A few were a little off to me, and my granddaughter. I began screening the stories so not to be caught gasping for air when the story took a weird twist. just saying. Other than that, loved this book.

This book is a compellation of thirty-five short stories and excerpts from classics written in the late 1800s and early 1900s. These Christmas stories, now in the public domain, are united under one cover. If the reader is interested in a historical viewpoint of Christmas literature, this would be the place to go.

This book is perfect when you want a fresh story about Christmas. You have the choice of a short or long story, too. This is ideal when reading to children.

This is a nice collection of stories for this time of year. Highly recommended to all parents. Not all christmas stories are religious, many are secular in nature.

These stories were written in the 1890's-early 1900's snd I found them quite charming.

I happen to like children's stories and Christmas stories, and this is a well-written collection of classic tales. They are gentle and old fashioned. A few mention feudal times, and some mention angels or spirits. Many are beautiful descriptions of nature along with Christmas kindness and love. I really enjoyed this book.
