Matthew Palmer's Step-by-Step Guide to Watercolour Painting

I love this book and Watercolour for the Absolute Beginner which I also have. His instructions, his information, the paintings shown and the sketches provided in both books are fantastic. I have learned so much from these books, from his Youtube videos and his website that I have become very comfortable with using watercolors and am enjoying the process of learning to paint more than I ever thought possible. I'm in my 60s and have always wanted to paint but didn't think I could. My nephew is very artistic and after talking to him I decided to give it a try. Matthew Palmer is just the inspiration I needed to dive in. I pre-ordered this book because I loved the other so much and I am so glad I did. If you're just getting started you can't go wrong with his books and his videos. He's taught a lot of people over the years and it really shows. And his paintings are beautiful.

It's a wonderful book! I've been a big follower for years on youtube. I also have some of his other books a a few of his brushes and paints. You might want to check him out on youtube to see his style. I love this book and am anxious to do some of these paintings. Following Matthew always makes me happy with my results! Love his tips, too!

I returned one because I had mistakenly ordered two. When I went to put the second one on the shelf, I discovered I already had this book by Matthew Palmer. When it came up,I thought it was a new book by Matthew Palmer. I would like to return the second one in my current order.

This book is just like you expect and what you have seen on his videos, you will find in this book. Great step-by-step instruction. I highly recommend this book.

Perfect for beginning painter

Apart from being a nice guy, Matthew has the gift of making his art look surprisingly doable. his manner is easily identifiable from his UTube videos and puts one at ease. he is very talented as an artist and as a teacher of his craft. this book has several tracings to cut out and transfer to your own watercolour paper. though somewhat basic drawings, these encourage self effort in a helpful way i would recommend this latest book of Matthews for beginner and more accomplished artist for the little tips and wrinkles he teaches. it gives you that little nudge in the right direction.

This book is very good for beginner and further advanced artists. It is beautifully presented with clear guidance in step by step to follow, which I what i was looking for since. I am new to landscape painting in watercolour. Some of these so called step by step books do not deliver what they say. I also watch Matthew Palmer's painting videos on youtube which are helpful as well. Thank You.

Brilliant book as ever, I also bought his book for beginners which is also very good, very clear to understand, nice step by step detail, I particularly like the sketches already done for you all you have to do is transfer them onto your paper and off you go, I am really enjoying painting with the help and guidance from this book. Another brilliant book from Matthew Palmer. I learnt masses from Watercolours for absolute beginners. This Step by step book is equally as good and moves me on from complete novice to much better novice. I am really enjoying painting and really didn’t think I could paint this well (relatively speaking) and it is all down to these 2 books. Unconditionally recommend.
