An Amazing Battery
This battery (with its pouch technology) is smaller and lighter than the 6.0Ah High Output model, with slightly more power than the 8.0Ah Forge battery. It has profile/weight similar to the original XC5 battery packs, making it ideal for track/circular saws if you can tolerate the shorter run time. Lithium-ion pouch technology is harder to mass produce than the tabless cylinders which is what makes these pricier than the 8.0Ah. While some tools, like the compact 1/2" hammer drill, can realize their full potential with a 3Ah High Output, routers and saws will show a significant power increase. I use these on my trim router, and while it's a little top heavy, it works well with a benchtop router table. Milwaukee's M18 tool and battery lineup continues to impress me, they have truly mastered the art of the 18V brushless motor.
