I've been slowly building out my smart home, and when it came to securing my doors and windows, I wanted something truly reliable. After trying a few other brands, I decided to give the YoLink LoRa Smart Door & Window Sensor a try, and I am absolutely blown away by its performance! This sensor has quickly become the cornerstone of my home security and automation. The installation was incredibly simple. It took me less than a minute per sensor to attach them to my doors and windows using the included adhesive. Pairing them with my YoLink Hub was equally effortless, and they were recognized instantly. No complicated wiring, no fussy setup โ just quick and easy integration. What truly sets this sensor apart is its use of LoRa (Long Range) technology. This is not just marketing hype; it genuinely makes a massive difference in range and reliability. I have sensors on detached sheds and gates at the very edge of my property, and they connect flawlessly to my hub inside the house, something other smart home devices struggled with. I get instant notifications on my phone every time a door or window is opened or closed, without any dropped signals or false alarms. This consistent, dependable performance provides immense peace of mind. The battery life is also exceptional, thanks to LoRa's low power consumption. I haven't had to think about changing batteries since I installed them, which is a huge convenience compared to other sensors that drain batteries quickly. I've integrated these sensors into various automation routines, from turning on lights when a door opens to triggering security alerts, and they perform flawlessly every single time. The YoLink app is intuitive and provides clear status updates for all my sensors. In summary, if you're looking for a smart door and window sensor that you can truly depend on, with incredible range, rock-solid reliability, and effortless installation, look no further than the YoLink LoRa Smart Door & Window Sensor. It's a premium product that delivers on every promise and is an essential addition to any smart home. Highly, highly recommend!

What a great product. I have the sensors on my refridgerator and freezer doors because the doors don't always close properly. Bought extra sensors to give to my kids so they start having fun and reliability with Yolink products.

Long story short, these two guys came to my house to clean my heating ducts and started to make really weird jokes about how they could rob me of my stuff and then resell it back to me. I didn't like that at all. So I came to Amazon to see what sort of solutions existed in this day and age, before I considered getting a professional home security system that you pay for every month etc. Yes, that option is by far the best if you want 100% peace of mind. That said, I wanted to give this product a try and here's what I have to say about it: PROS = everything is relatively small so it doesn't take up a bunch of space. The piece that connects to your router is the size of a smoke detector and can be set up on a wall, or leave it on the floor like I did, next to the router. I plug it in with the cable rather than WIFI, it's that much more reliable that way. It comes with 4 detectors, which is exactly how many I needed (2 windows and 2 doors). Once you're set up, you have to go into the app and click a few times to get to the alarm scenario you want to activate once you've left your home. Sometimes the app takes a few more seconds to launch and find your scenario. I absolutely love that I can see the situation anywhere I am, you can see in the app the status of each detector. I also love that I was able to get notifications sent to my smart watch (it sends an email if something is going on)! CONS Set up is wonky and rather unintuitive. Others have said so too. I spent more time than I wanted to on the software setup. IMPORTANT: don't do what I did, scan each detector BEFORE you stick it to the spot!! I installed a detector (after having to modify the door frame because it didn't fit naturaly) and then I had to scan it to include it in the software and I couldn't get my damn phone to see the QR code properly - and once you stick it to the door or wall it's over!! Also important: even though it has really good sticking glue some of the detectors eventually fall off. I tried hot glue and what not, nothing seems to work. I resorted to ugly black electric tape and so far this is the only thing keeping the detectors in place, for the ones that come off. It depends on the surface, and you should probably up your chances of success by cleaning the surface before sticking them on, which I did not do. I bought the siren alarm to go with it, the sound is alright but not scary alarming loud. Am I happy so far? YES! I can see what's going on when I'm away, I get prompt warnings if something is happening, and once the set up is figured out you're good to go.

I've spent a large amount of time researching on the what would be the best Hub for my smart home. For me, a hub needed three qualifications: It has to work with Alexa -- has to be compatible with various devices like sensors, smart plugs, smart lights ect. -- and has to be user-friendly; easy to setup. The Samsung SmartThings Hub was on top of my list. Although, I wasn't ready to jump in and get a hub right away, since I've been using the TP-Link Kasa smart home products - which require no hub. Also, I've been using the Amazon Echo Flex with motion sensor, which requires no hub either. Unfortunately, I had just found out last week, Samsung has discontinued the SmartThings hub and SmartThings products. They're doing a re-structuring of their smart home product line and are staying quiet of what the future of products would be. This left me with a problem. If I want to give my smart home more functionality, I needed more sensors (that worked with Alexa). For the most part, most sensors I've found require a hub and needed compatibility with some standard like z-wave or zigbee -- or required some know-how like linux or needed IOS. So, what was my issue? When it came to user-friendliness and easy to setup, SmartThings was my best choice for that. I started searching for door sensors that required no hub, and somehow found this hidden gem. Like SmartThings, Yolink consist of similar products and has it's own hub (YoLink Hub). So, I took the chance. Pros: Setup of the devices was fairly easy. Response from the sensors is quick. As soon as I open the door, I hear Alexa instantly tell me the door is open (need to create a routine of course). I have a kid :) Has been working really well with TP-Link KASA products - as well as the Amazon Smart Plug. So far, the Yolink door sensors and Yolink hub have responded great to any routine I created in alexa. Had no issues - really Cons: The device has to be registered in the Yolink app. To do this, you have to scan a QR code labeled on the device. For some reason, it can take a while to scan, or my phone has trouble scanning it. Eventually it does recognize the device. I did not take a star away from the review because it could be my phone or how I'm holding the phone. I preferred connecting my Yolink Hub via ethernet to my router, which is what I recommend. The connection is more stable, safer and quicker. Although, you can connect to your home router using wireless if you want. Conclusion: Great Alternative to SmartThings. I'll be expanding with more Yolink devices in the future.

I am really impressed with these door sensors. Have not had one issue at all with them and it's been 4 months so far, they were easy to set up and they just work. I was able to connect them with Alexa and I made a routine to announce if a door is left open for too long. I also use then to automatically lock my doors with smart locks, they signal when the door is closed and tell Alexa to lock it. I recently started getting into Home Assistant and they connected to that with no issue either. You really can't go wrong with these, my house has thick plaster walls and all the sensors still have a very strong signal. I added the indoor siren and outdoor motion sensor to detect when a car pulls in my driveway and those work flawlessly too.
