We used to have a can where you lifted off the top to take out the bag, and we loved it.This one, you have to lift the whole can off the metal liner underneath. If like me you bring the can over to where you are chopping vegetables to be able to throw the waste in, forget it. You have to drag it across the floor with the liner banging around in the open bottom. The floor got scratched so I started using baggies at the counter and bringing that over. The door is also pretty small, so if you have anything bigger, you have to throw your trash in some other waste bin. And finally the door is badly made, so it occasionally wedges shut on one side. My husband usually empties this, so I didn't realize how heavy and cumbersome it was to change the bag. He went on a business trip so I found out, and now the 30 days are over. I'm pretty annoyed that I'm stuck with this useless piece of expensive metal and out the money. Maybe I can find someone on Craig's list who will take it for scrap. I wouldn't even use this in the basement for a shop barrel.
