We have an almost 6 year old whose birthday is coming up. Our son loves bugs and things that glow and so these are perfect. There is a tiny little glow stick that slips into a groove on each soft, clear, rubbery bug. They look really nice and don't have any odor. He is very pleased with it and his friends at the party will like them too. Would recommend for fun party favors or for kids who like bugs... there are lots of them!

Ordered Glow Critters as a Halloween "trick" for the local kiddos. The plastic critters were substantial and the individual glow sticks were easy enough to crack and activate. The glow sticks fit snugly into each critter and stayed put. Kids enjoyed receiving these instead of candy (when given a choice) and they added a nice ambient glow to their bags and buckets of treats. The items included were oddly paired in that the package says how many "pieces" are included, but this is not how many actual glow critters are included. The number on the package is the total of the plastic critters, the glow sticks and the string included to hang them. There were far more glow sticks than critters and only one glow stick will fit in each critter. Ultimately, it's just an odd proportion and for those not careful a bit deceiving in how many critters are actually in each package. I'd purchase this item again as the actual critters are pretty great, but given the actual small number of critters in the bag I might pause a bit considering the price.

Fun toy for the kids while on a camping trip!

I got for the goodie bags for my grandson's bug themed birthday party,and they were a hit . Easy to use and the kids laughed at the way the glow sticks went into the end of the bugs . The glow sticks are small so not for little ones,the glow sticks lasted about 15-20 minutes which was good and there are a few extra glow sticks in the bag . The strings were long enough for the kids ,we had the party during the day at a play zone so it was too light outside but there is a area in the play zone that is darker it has stars and neon colors with a black light and these popped really well . The kids loved them and some of the adults even wore them .

FALSE ADVERTISING. I bought the package that says "30" on it for my daycare kids. Despite what the description says, there are in fact 10 (ten) of the critters, not 30, not 16 (listed in the description I didn't bother reading). There are 20 glow sticks that fit into the critters (yellow, orange and pink). (Some of the critters you insert the glow stick, not sure how you'd get it back out to replace with a new stick??) There is a TON of black strings to attach to the critters for carrying or attaching to backpacks, etc That said, the critters are a reasonably tough, thick plastic that will be fun to play with even after the glowstick is expired, and plenty big enough to not be a choking hazard. I just have to buy a second package now...I would not have purchased if I knew it was only 10. I'm sure it's worth it but I don't generally spend more than a few dollars on Holiday gift bags for the kids.
