Great sand
I love this sand it looks great and it works well I did see people leave bad reviews for it because they decided to use it in fresh water. For anyone who wants to use Live Sand it is only for salt water the bacteria in the sand will die when you use it in fresh water and it will pollute the tank causing ammonia and nitrates to skyrocket so I suggest if you have a fresh water tank do not use live sand for it live sand will die if the specific gravity is lower than 1.018

Great Product !
This sand looks great , works great and my fish seem happy with it. My water was a little cloudy at first but that is going to happen when adding sand to a tank. I just waited an hour. Let everything settle then I just used my glass cleaner clean the glass. Fine sand particles stick to the glass. I used this sand to set up a new tank.I think this is definitely worth the money I spent on it. I plan to buy more for my next tank.

Amazing!
The media could not be loaded. I purchased this for my 10 gal baby yellow belly slider's tank. She loves walking around on it since it has a really nice soft texture. Adding the sand was expectedly messy and clouded up the water of my tank for the first day, but after the dust settled, the tank looked amazing. Sand as a substrate creates a really natural environment for aquatic pets! I love it and so does my turtle!

Nice clean look
This substrate is really fine. Once added to the tank, it takes a while to settle. In the meantime, the water is cloudy and it coats the tank walls, inside of the blower and everything else. I give it 4 stars for this reason. Otherwise, I'm sure it's doing what live sand is meant to do and the Goby loves moving it around. Looks really pretty in the tank making it appear clean.

Just what I needed!
I was setting up a tank for a marine hermit crab that hitch hiked home with us from the beach. After several configurations and after realizing he spent all of his time in the water I decided to try setting up a salt water tank for him. I ordered this sand so he would have a place to dig into (he likes to dig into the sand to sleep) I was initially surprised by how wet it was in the bag but it worked out really well. I didn’t rinse it but it hardly clouded the water at all, I poured the water over an upside down dish to prevent it from getting stirred up. I will definitely order it again as my tank grows.

Freshwater Tank
Purchased for freshwater tank and when it arrived I examined it and had second thoughts as it seemed more for a salt water tank and although no where in the description does it state it’s not for a fresh water I decided to see what I can do with it since I already purchased and live in Japan and didn’t want to deal with the hassle. Went ahead and soaked/rinsed the 10lb sand for about two days before giving it a try and putting it in the tank. I waited about a month now before writing this review to see if I would have any concerns since doing so and honestly after a month of trail the tank looks fine the levels are fine and the fish are fine. So if you plan on getting this for a fresh water tank I see no issues in doing so.

Good sand
I don't believe in rinsing live sand, I dumped it straight into my tank and the substrate cloud cleared up in about 48 hours, and then I put in fish, and he's super happy and thriving for 2 months now. I used this as a clean white layer on top of the CaribSea live sand. Looks great, and it's got little seashells in it which enhances the ocean look.

nice But should be used for lower flow or deep tanks
Really like the sand but would not recommend to use on high flow or shallow tanks, sand gets stirred pretty easily. Cleared up pretty quickly. The directions say 2-6 hours but I would say it was less than half but I guess you can attribute that to the filter. I’m using an odysea hob canister and stuffed it with filter floss, once it cleared up and got all the small particles out I removed it and added somePurrigen and the water is pretty crystal.
