Rainforest [Blu-ray] [Region A & B & C]

Scientists from the Smithsonian Tropical Institute visit Barro Colorado Island in the centre of the Panama Canal to obtain information and research of the islands wildlife. The main animals that interested the scientists were Howler/Spider Monkeys, Sloths, Ants, Bats, Frogs, Agoutis, Leafcutter Ants and Ocelots. I watched the 53 min Region B/2 dvd in Blu-ray and found it interesting and very informative. This is the same dvd under the title "DER REGENWALD der letzte schatz der erde 3D"

Good doco, Well done in 3D. Very amazing place would love to visit there one day.Parts get a little dull at times but most very interesting shows what an incrediable world we live in

effective but not as 3D as I expected, but my husband enjoys wildlife films but expected it to be more into the living room, if you know what I mean.

bought this for my son who was doing Rainforest project at school and he brought it in to show the teacher who used it to show all the kids who really loved it. great value and no doubt will be watched many times!!

Great content, but the 3D to be honest is very poor....I have seen a LOT better, and really the 3D efffects were disappointing.

In truth, this is not a bad little film. The picture quality is good and the depth of the 3D gives you a good feel for the rain-forest. (And no, things don't have to jump out at you for the 3D to be good. In fact, in your face effects can have quite the opposite, er, effect on viewing pleasure.) The narrative is well written and the narrator has a quite pleasant voice. The music is attrocious, but does not impose itself, so it's easy to disregard.The facts presented are at times facinating and mostly not such that they are previously known to even a more than casual viewer of nature films. The species covered are few but interesting. However, here is the rub as far as I am concerned.The cover of the case is dominated by a picture of a squirrel monkey. But. No squirrel monkey makes any kind of appearance in the film. There are howler monkeys and spider monkeys and even a very brief cameo by a capuchin. It runs by very fast on a branch towards the end of the film and is not even commented on, this in spite of a photo of said species illustrating the back of the case.Now, this might seem like a very small sticking point, but I find it a matter of principal that a cover this dishonest should render a bad grade for the movie. Also, I'm a monkey aficionado and the squirrel monkey photo was what made me want to see this documentary in the first place.That said, if the missing squirrel monkey doesn't bother you, then by all means get the disc. At this price, it is well worth it.

Good cinematography, but still not up to par with some of the BBC/Attenborough stuff which is far superior in a myriad of ways.For me, this documentary was spoilt by the incredibly annoying narration which I found grating and intrusive. As such, it gets a mid-range rating from me.My advice, buy it - but watch it with some suitable music or your own ambient jungle soundtrack!

I enjoyed watching this in 3D would recommend that people buy it very informative and gives you a real insight.
