After my lumbar spine surgery I needed a way to use my hands and arms to help me roll my body from side to side so I could sleep on either side or on my back. I am a bit overweight and rolling from side to side was not always an easy task even before my surgery. We do not have a box spring; the solid supports, or rails, extend pretty far under the mattress and we have experience no problems with "tipping" the safety rail either entering or leaving the bed. **Q: Would a 14” laptop fit on the pouch?** A: I think it would. I tried my 15” and it would fit if I stand it up with the narrow end at the top. A 14” would probably slide down in there. **Q: Do you have to purchase two kits to have handles on both sides of the bed?** A: No. I purchased one kit for one side of the bed.
