I also have an 8 foot ORU Lake. The Tucktec seems much more durable. I wouldn’t hesitate to take it where I may scrape the bottom of a river or run into submerged tree limbs. Although I’m a 76-year-old senior, I had little trouble folding it back up even the first time. Based on how thick the material was, I was shocked how nicely it went together. I did find that watching the factory video on opening and closing helped immensely. The downside for me is that because I am short my paddles hit the side of the kayak each time I took a stroke. I’m thinking that slit pool noodles attached to the side would take care of that.

Compact, lightweight, portable, well-made, and reasonably priced. It's not hard to set up, IF you watch the instructional video. An instruction card would be nice, but the existence of the instructional videos means that it's unnecessary. It floats, and gets me from point A to point B on the water, without sending me for an undesired swim. I can't comment on long term durability, but it's held up well so far. For waterfowl hunting, fishing, and backpacking this is an excellent, and very competitively priced, option - ~2/3 the price of the next cheapest folding Kayak I could find on a cursory search, and comparable even to the cheapest hard shell option at my local sporting goods store.

I got this for my daughter's birthday. She's been wanting a kayak for the last 10 years but because she didn't have a place to store one or transport one with her small car she couldn't get a kayak. But because we found this foldable one, we were able to make her dreams come true. Now she's so happy! She took it out on the very first day that she got it. It was so easy to put together and then just as easy to take apart and put in her trunk after she was done using it. I highly recommend it!

Turned out to be a great purchase. The only difficulty was unfolding and refolding it for the first time setup. Yes, there are YouTube videos out there to show you how to unfold and refold to set up, but they've changed the design a little in terms of some braces and the seat attachments from what was in the videos I watched. However, once past that first initial setup, it became easier to unfold and fold with each use. You want a helper during that first setup as the plastic doesn't have any creases in it yet and it takes some muscle while somebody else hold things steady.

Easy to assemble, have the how to video next to you the whole time! Plan to pause and rewind a lot the first couple of times!!! Very stable and no water got in while riding. I knock off one star because the foot rest is useless BS. Seat isn’t too bad, I’ll get an extra cushion going forward but footrest useless, plan on your legs lying flat in the kayak (which I’m not a fan of, thinking about shoving old blankets in it so my feet have something to rest on)
