Good book. Introduces the most important Arabic sources about Islamic Art

I wish the author could cover more topics and sources. It is a valuable book anyway.

A welcome and thought-provoking selection of scholarly articles on Islamic Art and Visual Culture. I'm glad that this is a required textbook for my course because I might not have come across it otherwise. It enriched the staid information in the regular textbooks.

This is a good selection for students of Islamic art to invest in. It covers sources from the gamut of the Islamic world, and gives a good first reference for looking deeper.
