I want a dog door to be as inconspicuous as possible. Can any tags/logos on the interior side be removed? Could it be painted to match the wall?

There aren't any tags or logos on mine.  The white surround can be painted, but the plexiglass door cannot be painted.

i bought my old solo pet door about 16 years ago . it has a 67.7 number on it . it worked everyday for 13 years . how do i get a new one to alaska ?

Order direct. I have had mine 16 years and love mine. Building a new house and would not think of snd other door to put in. This is the best dog door built.

I saw one review that said it was loud, and made a snap sound.   How much noise does it make during operation?

This door is not loud. The noise is just enough to let you know when your animal is going in or out. I love this door. Building a new house and would not put in another door but this door.

What size do recommend for a 55 lb dog?

I have two 55 lb dogs.  We ordered the one that has a doggie door opening of 16" X 10" and an overall opening of 34" X 14" and it is a wall unit.  The sizes may have changed slightly since we've had ours about 7 years.  We ordered directly from Solo Pet Doors in California because I don't believe Amazon carried these items at that time.  The closet item # to our door is #1510.  We paid under $500.00 at the time.  It was one of the best purchases ever!  Hope this information helps.
