A Must Buy for anyone wanting a deet free bug repl.
The best Essential Oil Blend for making citronella candles and a safe but yet Extremely effective DIY bug repellent! I'm very satisfied and happy with this product as it's exactly as described. I tested an oil blend i bought at a big box craft store against this one just to see how "pure" it really was and I was shocked at the difference. I paid 8.00 for half the size bottle (from that local big box craft store) I recieved from plant therapy and it claimed the to be also made of 100% Essential Oil blend. No, It was not. I know this because you can test the quality and purity out by simply adding a few drops directly at a lit candle flame ( outside!!!) and if it goes out, then it's not 100% and has other fillers and it's certainly not "pure" EO. I then did the test with this essential oil and the flame sparked and lit up because it's a TRUE EO... 100% will behave like adding lighter fluid to a camp fire... I think you get the picture. So it's a blend that's true to the 100% essential oil claim and very concentrated at that. You only need about 5 drops to make an 12oz bottle of the best bug repellent you can make at home. The bottle says to use on skin, dilute to 5%. So using a binder of Dr. Bronner's organic Castile peppermint (some bugs hate mint) soap, I added 5 drops to an 8oz bottle then added distilled water and a splash of vinegar... Swirled it around and it was perfect! But you can make it the strength of smelly you like and this worked for us. I have auto-Immune illnesses and no immune system that works properly so I can't use anything that contains " deet " and this has catnip EO which has been found to be 10x more effective than deet and 100% less toxic. Plus I hate the smell and the sticky icky feeling of commercial bug sprays. I cannot use them and why would you use a chemical like that when there's catnip oil! So I've already used half the bottle making bug spray for everyone and Citronella candles and use the oil undiluted in an outdoor tea light oil warmer. I hear the oil up with the candles I made from this oil lol so boom, double my oil fun. It keeps the bugs away from us, smells pretty darn good for bug spray/repellent with NO toxicity to me, the kids and dog. Happy customer, I'll be purchasing more! Shipping was longer than the two day prime but it was worth the wait as the quality is what it says it is and it works for me.

This WORKS!! Love it!!
I was looking for a natural alternative to the Off products that contain the toxic chemical deet. Did some research and came across this.. After reading several positive reviews I purchased it. I researched some mixes with this and found that witch hazel was the easiest. I bought a 16oz bottel of witch hazel and poured all of it in a new spray bottle and added 110 drops of this with dash of distilled water and shook it up. I gotta say it smells great and kept the mosquitos and other bugs away. I was camping with my family and I applied this to everyone several times thoughout the 4 day stay. And it worked for everyone. It was Awesome to see mosquitoes trying to land on my body but never did. I never got bit until the last day when I ran out of it... Then I got bit multiple times. This stuff is great and all natural! ! Just get it and you wont be sorry! I will use this from now on.. Love this stuff!! Did I mention that it smells great!!

This stuff is absolute magic.
I mixed/ diluted with the organic fractionated coconut oil by plant therapy to make an insect repellant spray. Worked on my husband who gets TORN UP by mosquitos. My chickens are always surrounded by a swarm of mosquitos at night so I sprayed a little on the wall of the coop near their roosting bar and applied a little to the backs of their necks and combs and rubbed some from my hand onto their feet. So far it's been 3 days since I applied it to them and every night I have checked there have been ZERO mosquitos.

It works!
After reading about health concerns of using DEET (the stuff that makes OFF mosquito repellant work) I started a bit of researching and found that the right combo of essential oils will get the job done. I bought this product and have made a couple of bucket candles and also mixed it with witchhazel as a spray on for the kids AND put it in with citronella oil for my camp lanterns. NOW...this was NOT all done with one bottle. It's good, but not a miracle oil. I've used a few bottles. And it is effective. My family camps quite a bit...and we used citronella/lemongrass candles...the same thing in lanterns...and applied OFF spray...and at sites with heavy mosquito prescence used OFF ground foggers. Now with the candles I made, spray on I made, and the boost I gave my oil lanterns...we are DEET free and bug free. This stuff will help with ticks as well. Since then, I have added a couple other essential oils to increase effectiveness and am quite pleased.

This stuff works!
This stuff works! I just mixed it with witch hazel and I have been spraying it on at night when I sit outside. So far I am not mosquito bait. I am a person who always gets bit. I bought this to use in Nicaragua and accidentally left the bottle in the refrigerator. I got eaten alive day and night in Belize. When I got back to the states I bought it again for our travels. I have been using here in Dominican Republic with great success. We go on to Panama and then Mexico so I am hopeful I will have the same results. Also I started taking B1, although some research suggests that doesn't work. I have also read to eat garlic. So there are orders the Mosquitos don't like. The insect shield is not offensive to me and way better than spraying deet on your body. I recommend trying and I hope it works for you! Ok it did not work on the biting midges or no see us in Boca Chica Panama but it works great on the mosquitos in Mexico. Also you can dot a few drops on your skin on pulse points like you do perfume. I have seen mosquitos come close to my leg to land and about 3 to 4 inches away they turn and fly away. Remember to carry a spray bottle and spray under the table on your legs when out at night. This is great because it is a natural product.

Packs light and works like a charm! Smells good too!
I bought this for a trip to Costa Rica because it was all natural and I knew I would be doing a lot of hiking in sensitive eco systems where they advise against the use of DEET. Another benefit in my scenario was that I was traveling by plane with a carry on only and I was trying to bring as little liquid with me as possible due to TSA Regulations. It also packs incredibly light, another absolute bonus in my book! I personally mix the oil in 2.5oz spray bottles as I need to and have found each mix(roughly 15-20 drops) lasts through several days while applying it regularly. As for its ability to repel bugs, I can vouch that it certainly did the trick for me with fairly regular applications every two hours or so as needed in HEAVILY infested areas by bugs(Costa Rica, Guyana, and my home state, Michigan). This item worked so well that I have since recommended it to friends and family and they all have grown to know and love this product as well. I am currently on my second bottle...I would estimate that with fairly regular use, one bottle should last a season or two depending on how much you are outside!

Works great
Great at keeping the bugs away and better than mosquito spray I the fact that it moisturizes instead of making you sticky. Does not work as long as mosquito spray so reapplication is necessary
