TAMRON SP 150-600 mm F/5-6.3 Di VC USD G2 Lens for Nikon DSLR Camera (Black)

Bought this lens during the Prime Day sale, Jul'19, and got an attractive price. Got a free 95mm MC-UV lens from the Tamron HO (after emailing and taking a pic of the packing box with the FREE sticker) of Toshiba brand.Also got the product warranty registered for 2 yrs + 2 yrs extended (watch out for the sticker on the box) with Tamron India within the same week of receipt.Bought this mostly for birding and wildlife...but didn't get a chance since 1 month, but recently got a chance to do some sports-action photography - i.e. a surfing competition in Chennai.Posting some pics as samples.Pros:1) Even though it is a heavy lens, I found the weight balancing done in a good way. I used this with a Nikon D7200 body.2) Daytime photography produced neat in-focus. Using the right combination of ISO-Speed-Aperture can give out sharp images even when hand-held.3) Focus lock ring is a welcome addition4) Feels like a premium buildCons:1) Found the lens cap fitting to the lens a not a quick task, getting the rings parallel to the lens front thread is tricky, you mount it in few trials, as it always slips.Have to try some birds-in-flight to understand more about the lens and its capability and strength.From what I read online after a lot of research there is much improvement over the G1 model, as well as better image quality over a Sigma Contemporary.I would recommend this lens.

Optique utilisée sur D750, D850, Z8.Rend le meilleur d'elle même sur Z8.Piqué excellent compte tenu de son positionnement tarifaire.Cette optique demande un travail sur soi pour l'exploiter correctement.D'abord à 600mm et à longue distance ne pas s'attendre à un piqué exceptionnel, à cause des turbulences atmosphériques. J'ai eu régulièrement des images parfaites, mais s'il fait un peu chaud et que votre sujet est à 1Km forcément ça va dégrader l'image, et ce n'est pas du à l'optique.à 600mm à moins de 100m c'est parfait, y compris sur Z8 ou D850 avec des capteurs très pixellisés et à pleine ouverture. le sweet spot est entre F8 et f11.C’était la bonne surprise car cette optique a la réputation d’être moyenne à 600. Mon exemplaire est très bon, mais j'ai lu pas mal de review récentes et il semble qu'on soit maintenant face à une fabrication parfaitement maitrisée et que ce soit assez facile d'avoir de très bons exemplaires.Les focales intermédiaires sont très bonnes également, piqué nickel à 300,400 ou 500mm, avec des bokeh très jolis et très prononcés.A 300 c'est meilleur que mon 70-300 qui était déja très bon.Stabilisation: relativement efficace, elle permet de photographier à main levée dans la plupart des situations. il suffit de laisser son boitier monter en ISO automatiquement pour être sur d'avoir une image bien figée. A 600mm , j'ai eu des clichés nets aux alentours 1/160 relativement souvent.A noter toutefois qu'à la réception après achat, la stabilisation a été un peu capricieuse, j'ai du faire un factory reset à l'aide de la console Tap-in et le problème a été réglé.Poids: optique lourde mais moins que ses concurrents. La polyvalence du range fait qu'on peut gérer tout un tas de situations facilement. Boitier + optique on est à moins de 3 kg, donc c'est un peu lourd si on porte plus de 30 minutes sans pause, mais il n'y a pas de meilleure config de toute façon pour avoir 600mm, et c'est de toute façon bien plus cher.Elle est pourvue du collier de pied (non indexé) de très bonne qualité, et on peut connecter rapidement un monopod à l'aide d'un support Arca Swiss.Garantie 5 ans, rien à dire, c'est du sérieux, même si je n'ai jamais eu besoin d'y avoir recours (je suis full gamme G2, les autres optiques sont aussi des tueries, mention spéciale au 15-30 G2 qui est fabuleux).

Ho comprato questo obiettivo su Amazon warehouse ad un prezzo decisamente interessante, il prodotto è arrivato in ottime condizioni anche se privo, come peraltro specificato, della confezione originale. Lo uso da qualche mese ma è il primo obiettivo di questo genere con cui mi confronto, per cui quello che riporto è basato su questa unica esperienza. Partirei dalla nitidezza, questa è massima a f/8 ed alla massima estensione è buona tra 6,3 ed 8 mentre decade chiudendo il diframma. Visto che il 99,9% delle volte non mi sono trovato a dover utilizzare diaframmi diversi, lo definirei un non problema. La nitidezza inoltre migliora utilizzando lo zoom a lunghezze inferiori ad i 600, 500mm per esempio. Questo non mi ha stupito perchè ampiamente riportato nelle review delle varie testate specializzate. Per il mio esemplare utilizzato su una Nikon D600 non ho rilevato alcun problema di front o back focus e pur essendo in possesso della tap-in console non sono dovuto intervenire per regolazioni di fino. Lo zoom è fluido, trovo comodo il sistema che permette di bloccare lo zoom a diverse lunghezze, ottimo il piede con attacco arca swiss. Le immagine sono qualitativamente molto buone, certo "domare" una bestia del genere non è semplicissimo ed occorre prendere la mano sperimentando il mix di regolazioni e strategie di riprese opportune ma, superata la fase di apprendistato, le soddisfazioni vengono. L'autofocus in alcune occasioni ha delle incertezze (anche questo riportato in letteratura), per sbloccarlo lo punto verso un area "facile" da leggere (p. es. un albero solitario) ma accade solo quando il soggetto si muove in un scena particolarmente confusa per rami, erba etc . ed in genere non accade. Anche qui una volta capito il sistema rimediare è un attimo Ho letto molte critiche al paraluce e non le ho capite, fa quello che deve "para la luce" e non c'è altro da aggiungere. Per l'utilizzo su cavalletto suggerisco una testa a bilanciere (gimbal) che facilita di non poco le cose. Per concludere un bel vetro che permette di fare caccia fotografica ad un buon livello senza "svenarsi", ne sono complessivamente molto soddisfatto e mi ci sto divertendo un bel pò.

Great lens. Far superior to the previous G1. My only issue is the buttons on the side of the lens constantly get switched from the lens hitting my leg. Sort of an issue. I am thinking of using black electrical tape to prevent accidental switching.

Love the extra focal length from my 80-400 Nikon. I have found that it had some trouble focusing at times, but that could be due to the lower light when zoomed in at the maximum focal length. This is a slower lens when compared to the Nikon, but with ISO 's they way they are today with the better cameras, I do not think it is a problem. I have only been using this lens for a few days, but so far I have been suitably impressed. More switches on the lens than the Nikon.
