Repaired 20 year old housing with this replacement, excellent part, fit correctly

My pump is over 30 years old! There were a couple of pin hole leaks in the side wall of this part of the pump. I tried to patch them with epoxy. That worked for a few months. I was surprised that this part of the pump was available. The second half of the pump had no issues with leaks. I installed this half which was fairly easy. Worked perfectly, no more leaks. The only thing else that was needed was to remove the drain plug from the old housing and install it in the new housing.

The part is exactly what I needed. I was disappointed that it took 4 business days to ship. I tried to save money by ordering from Amazon, but the other parts I ordered at the same time from a different on-line dealer arrived 3 days earlier. When it arrived the box was open on the top and bottom from being too shallow for the part. Luckily it is a heavy duty part and was not damaged.

My old pump face cracked and I needed to replace it. After a trip to the pool supply store I decided that Amazon was the way to go. Perfect fit and reasonable price. Will but again in the future if I ever need another.

Local pool store wanted to replace the entire pump assembly. Swapped this myself in less than an hour. Watch some YouTube videos learn how to use silicone + Teflon tape for a leak free install.

Perfect fit, relatively easy to install if you are a bit familiar with pool pump basics. My older model pump is running like new! I would recommend the purchase of a 1-1/2” union to go with this part as it makes future servicing and a leak proof installation much easier.
