“I feel that we’re on the brink of something. It is going to be strict and wild and pretty.” — Prince, 1986 More than any other release in his four-decade-long recording career, Prince's iconic double album Sign O' The Times captured the artist in a period of complete reinvention. Primarily recorded between the end of 1985 and beginning of 1987, the era saw the dissolution of his band The Revolution, the end of his engagement to Susannah Melvoin, and the creation (and ultimate abandonment) of the albums Dream Factory, Camille, and Crystal Ball. By the end of that period of transformation, Prince emerged with one of his most urgent and wide-ranging releases to date — an epochal double album that would be hailed as a creative, critical, and commercial triumph. Remastered 2 CD album. Review: Pure Genius! - Brilliant. Prince at his most creative. A must-listen on vinyl. A true music genius - they don't make many genuine artists like him anymore. He lived for his music - it was his life's passion. Too many 'performers' today make music to make money and chase celebrity status. Not Prince. Every track on this double LP is worthy of our utmost respect. Review: Love it - I originally bought Sign 'O' The Times on vinyl many, many years ago and used to have it blaring from the open windows in my XR3 - how cool I used to think I was! I only realised I didn't have this in my play list after Prince's recent death when checking my iTunes tracks. I just had to get it again - I loved the album then and I love it just as much now - nearly 30 years after I first listened to it. He just had so much energy and talent in his music. He also has his own unique sound and is a massive loss in this sad year of losing so many personalities. Watch out for some of his old live performances - he was such a brilliant guitarist as well. I would recommend this album for the young and older listeners alike.

Best Prince album?
The best Prince album? Maybe, and a great sound on this double vinyl album. Yes his vocals are a bit distorted in parts. The detail is truely amazing. Like all vinyl the better the turntable, arm and cartridge the better. Oh, and phono stage. Lookong forward to more Prince remastered vinyl releases....

GROUNDBREAKING
Classic album. This was a groundbreaking album, not only for the some of the subject matter but also the recording techniques used. This album is full of great tracks, not just singles with some album fillers.

Consigliato come consiglio PARADE - PUPLE RAIN - AROUND THE WORD IN A DAY.

One of his most interesting sounding records due to his pitch shifting his vocals to a higher range to give an almost cartoonish voice to the King of Soul, this also spawned a concert movie, which is truly one of the best you will ever see, if you can find it to see!!!
