Does not work if your trying to connect any device that is dependent upon CEC/DDC Ground. What does this mean? If your purchasing this item like I did for my Raspberry Pi / Motorola Lapdock modification the lapdock will not detect any signal due to the inferior construction of this item. The CEC/DDC grounds on high quality adapters will be connected from Pins 13 & 17 to the internal ground from the micro USB connections, This is not the case with this adapter. After exhaustive research all stating the same thing, most if not all portable devices that use an micro-HDMI female or male connector requires this ground in order to detect a present current (or video signal) before activating the rest of the components. From articles I have found on the web, states it is possible to remove the outer casing of this adapter, then removing the hardened plastic around the circuit board and solder a jumper from pin 17 to the outer shield ground connection. I HAVE TRIED THIS WITH NO POSITIVE OUTCOME. If your a reader who is trying to connect a Raspberry Pi and an Motorola Atrix Lapdock then find the parts from other merchandise websites. I was unable to find any of them that worked from this site,sorry Amazon, I love your site but did not carry the parts needed. Unfortunately I was completely unable to find the 3 cables I needed from anywhere within the continental United States and had to order the parts from China using other websites. You can find the project tutorials on the web listing the correct parts.
