It does Detect stud and wire
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Me and my roommate did a test with this stud finder around the house yesterday and the result was quite accurate. We slided in over those areas that we know have wired and stud and this stud finder beeped and display the symbol on the screen to show that there is wired or stud detected. It’s very simple to use. Turn it on, press the right button and slide over the wall to scan. Good product.

Not accurate stud finder
I bought this item because of the high reviews on the Amazon. Eventually the item i received does not scan the studs appropriately and does not find the studs behind the wall where those actually exist. Also, with every scan, no matter what I scan - the finder shows the electrical icon, which does not make sense. I did check it on different walls, different materials and in different conditions - nothing helps. My item is either defected or it is just that type of product which you buy relying on the amazon review stars but actually get a low quality product.

Don’t waste your money
Unit would not locate a stud in the same place twice. Multiple attempts were made to locate a known stud location. Each time this unit would locate the stud in a different place. Not accurate at all. Fortunately it was easily returned.

5 stars! Lightweight!
We just moved into a new house. We are remolding and it has been crazy stressful without one of these stud finders. I am soooo glad we got this today and I just used it to hang some heavy candle holders . Worked perfect! Easy for me as a women to use and light weight.

I like the way it looks. Easy to use. Easy to calibrate. And to top it off it came with the batterrie. But most important, it is dead on accurate. Wich is the important thing. I figured it out the with out reading the instructions.
