Ultra Security 44609 Old Time Mortise Lock with Skeleton Key, Brass-Plated Finish, Replaces Most Mortise Interior Locks from the Early 1900’s

This is a $15 complete lock set. It is not made with the best metal. That being said, they fit my doors perfectly. I have 7 of these. One in every door in our 120 year old house. Take the cover off the mortise and put some grease in the mechanism before installing.

I bought this to replace an old set that broke. This was in my Mom's old turn of the century house and it worked like a champ. saved me from replacing the whole door. Nice quality easy to install, really looked and functioned just like the original.

Functions as it should but my only complaint is the retainung screws on the knobs never stay. They come loose and as a result.. I've been locked IN my room on a few occasions. But other than that great product. Would recommend. Would buy again.

Works perfectly fine as durable as long as you don't want to wrestle with your doorknob maybe not the greatest for young children as it requires a bit of finesse but by no means junk or unusable.Update: bought another one. First one still working with daily use. Bought one from home depot and it didn't fit right with out doing some wood work. I returned it and bought this again. It fit with no modified holes.

When you open the door the knobs tend to stick. They are easy to unscrew which makes opening the door hard. My sister even locked herself out of the room with the door closed. They need to be tightened weekly

I got the for my mothers old house. you must check before you buy. The latch on the original was closer to the middle and I needed to change the strike plate and chisel out some wood. also the drawing on the back of the package did not match what was in the package. The description was correct but the drawing was wrong. I went by the drawing and sent a set back only to find they were the correct ones after all.

Very nicely priced. Bought these as previyhome owners took no care or time to remove the ones that were on doors when painting. So I replaced 3 of these and everything went flawlessly. I do wish they were available in a brushed nickel appearance (or my wife does lol). I will definitely be ordering more to finish off all the doors with these.

Item arrived promptly back in August and fit right into the existing pocket...now at the start of March, is already being replaced. A small tab that catches the latch inside the simple actuating mechanism, bent off. Removed the knob and pushed out the square rod then pryed the latch open with a screwdriver, maring the catch plate but enabling the opening of the door. Garbage, absolute trash. Look elsewhere if you want something that will last more than 6 months from basic daily use.
