Great fun to build
Like all of the Ugears models I've built so far, this was a lot of fun to put together. This has the well earned reputation as being the most complicated of their models. There are a lot of pieces and not a lot of room for error in the assembly. This should not be your first one. I broke a couple of pieces, but a dab of white glue fixed it all. There was at least one "caution" mention in the directions that I mis-read and had to do some disassembly to make right once I noticed my mistake 10 steps later. In the end it worked as advertised. But, like all the plywood models I've made (other than marble runs) there's very little play value in the finished product. But I didn't buy a toy, I bought a model kit and it was fun to build and satisfying to complete.

GREAT PRODUCT!
THIS IS THE FIFTH MODEL I HAVE PURCHASED FROM THIS COMPANY. ALTHOUGH I AM PLEASED WITH ALL THE KITS, THE PARTS ON THIS MODEL ARE VERY HARD TO GET TOGETHER. VERY TIGHT FITTING PIECES. I AM GLAD I HAVE THE EXPERIENCE OF FOUR OTHER MODELS TO HELP ME THROUGH THIS ONE. JUST TAKE YOUR TIME AND DON'T FORCE THE PIECES TOGETHER.ATTENTION - THE TOLERANCES ON THIS KIT ARE TOO TIGHT! IF YOU MAKE A MISTAKE ASSEMBLING A PART YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GET IT APART WITHOUT BRAKING SOME PARTS. MANY OTHER PARTS HAVE TO BE SANDED AND/OR WAXED TO GET THEM TOGETHER. VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS KIT. I WAS GOING TO ORDER ANOTHER KIT FOR SPARE PARTS SO I COULD COMPLETE THE ASSEMBLY, BUT AFTER READING MANY REVIEWS OF OTHERS THAT HAVE THE SAME PROBLEMS AS I DID, I WILL NOT BUY THIS AGAIN.

Interesting toy
I love the UGEARS products. This one is a very complicated piece. It looks great, but the rubber band motor is not strong enough to overcome all the friction even with liberal application of paraffin to all the gears and bearing points. I am considering powering it with an Arduino style geared motor.

big waste of money ever
I saw this and it looked really interesting and exciting to build after the first 20 minutes. I knew it was a mistake. Spent three weeks trying to assemble this nightmare never work right you always think that was good about it was being able to return it thank God for little things parts were so fragile they were breaking in my hands as I was trying to remove them

Good long term project.
Still working on it. A bit complicated and a lot of small parts. However, having a great time building and can’t wait to see if it actually works.

Interesting concept
This model is poorly designed. There are many places where the parts fit is so tight that it requires more force than the wood can bear. There is one section where three posts have to fit into slots that are way too tight and pushed through the holes three quarters of an inch with a huge amount of force. Then finally near the end of the connection, twelve more connections need to be fitted into slots that are also two small. In the end enough force is required to fit fifteen connections without breaking the wood or having any way to apply opposing force without breaking other componentsThe instructions are not well thought out, with parts being placed on in an order that needlessly puts other parts in the way or leaves parts only partially connected for several steps. This product feels like the instructions and build were not tested properly before sale. Unfortunately at this point the model is not buildable and I'll have to write off the cost and time invested. It was a neat idea poorly executed.

Great for display, but don’t expect it to work.
It is a beautiful model that I enjoyed putting together and it makes a great ornament. But it just doesn’t work.I have had experience assembling other moving models, so I took my chance with this one, being extra careful with the sanding and waxing. I had extra difficulties with one of the round pieces that has the connection hole to close to the edge and it breaks on you just very easily. And it doesn’t have any spares.Like many others, I find the main shaft under the crank too weak, as it twirls with very little force. All pieces move smoothly individually, but as a whole, the model doesn’t work as advertised. If you enjoy the build, it’s a very good experience...but the final reward is not as good.

It’s not easy to assemble.
For me it was hard to put together which is why I do them but this one takes a lot of patience but is a good puzzle.

Disappointed
I have bought many of these models and this is the first one that I am not happy with. Many of the pieces very difficult to punch out of mold. Not even close enough wax or sandpaper, both were done not even half way through build. Most of the pieces had to be sanded to fit together properly. Not happy

It was my 5th model from UGEARS and it was a real chalenge . At the end, the model was beautiful and it works very well.
