Like a few reviewers stated I also have been battling perioral dermatitis for years. Accutane cured it but then after I stopped taking Accutane for a year now the pd came back. After a lot of research I stumbled into Spectro. Let’s just say after day 2 I noticed that I didn’t have any new breakouts. After 1 week still no new breakouts. I even put Spectro to the test and applied a face cream that usually would cause a breakout if I don’t wash it off before going to bed. Shockingly no breakouts occurred the next morning. It’s fall/winter right now but I plan on updating this reviewer in the summer because that’s the time of year when all hell usually breaks out skin care wise. But so far this face wash is doing what no other cleanser or over the counter cream could do.

Can’t say enough about this product! I have struggled with perioral dermatitis for 1.5 years. From painful prescription creams and antibiotics that caused reactions. I have tried soap after cleanser. This product does not irritate my skin. This along with some essential oils from Doterra mixed with fco have kept my PD at bay. I have slight residual redness, but absolutely nothing I can’t live with.

If you have a skin condition this stuff is an absolute godsend. It is so gentle! It admittedly doesn't smell fantastic but I am absolutely okay with it because it works! Completely non-irritating.

Why-oh-why don’t they sell this in stores in the USA? I used to buy it for cheap in Canada when I visited every year, but now I order it here. Still totally worth it. Never makes my skin feel tight or dry. Super gentle but makes my face feel clean. I even rub it into my eyelashes to get off makeup.

This is an amazing, low cost gentle cleanser. It's light weight so you might want to pair an oil cleanser or an acid with it once a week to buff things out. However, for your go to, everyday cleanser, this is it. I recommend the Blemish Prone Skin version in the purple bottle over the combination skin version in the orange bottle. Even though it is only a one ingredient difference, the combo skin bottle made me break out. The Spectro Gel cleanser also is much better than the Cetaphil gentle cleanser, even though they have similar weights and feel. The spectro gel is just that much better, and didn't make me break out. No fragrances which is great! Less chance to irritate your skin. It also comes in a big bottle, so you can try the little bottle first then commit with the big bottle. I've been using this on and off for decades and love it!

i was skeptical at first. it caused my skin to go through a purging process, but now that it's been about 2 weeks, my skin is clearer than ever, smooth and soft. couldn't recommend this cleanser any higher than 5 stars; it's fantastic. i saw a review online that said its cons were that it doesn't foam up... y'all, that's a good thing. you don't want your facial cleanser to foam up! it isn't the best for your skin and is incredibly drying. this is great stuff.

I've been using Spectro Gel for at about 20 years now and wouldn't change! I never have to worry about it drying out my skin and causing imitation. It's also unscented which is great too. It's also made here in Canada, so that makes it even more attractive to buy!

The best part of this product is that it doesn't dry out your skin at all, which can't be said for soap/body wash & most cleansers. This makes it especially good in the winter months when skin is most dry. However, it will leave some of your natural oils in your skin, so something to keep in mind if you have very oily skin and want something that will make you feel clean. It also will not irritate sensitive skin. Has a slightly unpleasant industrial smell, but that doesn't really last on the skin. It's also a gel that doesn't foam/lather, which some may not prefer. I see no effect against acne however, it's just a cleanser.
