I'm not sure I have only used it on my HP Envy laptop. It works very well as you just plug it in to the side and it is nice to hold.

Is there any way how you can tell the battery status of the mouse before I need to charge it again?

Not that I've found. I've had mine since October and have only just had to recharge - I found it started getting a bit sluggish but have not found any indicator.
