Great pump, keeps my water clear

Trustworthy, and inexpensive to run
Works absolutely perfectly. So great that the lamp is replaceable, inexpensively. I’m running the 2nd one that I bought on my Betta macrostoma, I trust it that much. Great buy

Saved My Tank
Love my fish; hate cleaning the tank. Our fish tank seems to need a full water change (and scrub) bi-monthly. I have owned fish for many years. However, I was not able to find a balance with this tank and filter combo, then I added this to my tank...while the tank was at it's worse.I returned from traveling for two weeks and the tanks had both green and brown algae. I was fed up and ready to close the tank and put my fish in my outdoor pond (they can survive). However, I have a similar filter in my outdoor pond and I am so glad this filter cleared the algae up after about two-weeks and it has not returned. To the point, I now have to supplement my algae eaters diet.

READ FIRST! It leaks due to design/manufacturing defect.
I bought a JUB-01 in Jan 2024. Installed it in a 70 gal turtle/fish aquarium on my light timer so it only ran about 10 hours per day. It worked great when it was first installed and cleared up the cloudy water in a couple of days. I recently noticed the water getting cloudy again and saw the light was not blue at the bottom. I pulled the filter and when I opened it up the inner quartz tube around the bulb was totally filled with water. The bulb was corroded and shorted out. I am a Plastics Engineer and started looking at the O ring interface to see if silicone grease or a thicker O ring might help fix the issue. However I noticed that it looks like the factory applied a layer of "glue" inside the molded cylinder where the O ring on the quartz tube is supposed to compress and seal. It might have worked, but was poorly executed. It was not smooth and has ripples in the glue surface so the O ring cannot compress evenly and seal. This was not normal for this type of design and after 20 years of working with Chinese suppliers sourcing plastic parts for major US companies, I am guessing the molding diameter was out of specification. To save a few bucks, rather than scrapping the parts, they tried to rework them using a "glue" wiped inside the plastic cylider to decrease the inner diameter by 0.5mm or so and better compress the O ring. However there are large ripples in the hard glue surface so it is not even and there is no way for it to make a good/even compression of the O ring around the entire circumference. Maybe it was smooth enough to work sometimes, but If you get one of these and see a "glue" build up where the quartz tube/ O ring is supposed to seal I do not recommend using it. Just send it back. Looking at reviews from late 2023 to early 2024 a lot of units reported leaking. I'll bet they all have this "glue" rework inside of them. They need to fix the molding process or modify the molding tool so it has the correct dimensions for the O ring to seal without adding crap to the inner sealing surface as a band-aid.

Works, less than a year life time
Works well but durability is an issue. Lasted less than a year, installed a different lamp after 8 months and then it broke again.

Works Great!
Have a 75-gallon Koi tank that has been cloudy due to algae in the tank. This UV filter cleaned it sparkling clean and clear within 3 days. I was actually amazed..... and very pleased. The unit is easily movable so I have used it in my other tanks to help clear the water of algae and the unit works great.

Works as advertised... if it's not DOA
I have now ran it for months and months. It does it's job amazingly and has kept the reservoir clear. It's still running now and I have purchased another for another reservoir. If you need 25-40 gallons, this is your UV pump. I have had it mounted horizontally on the bottom of the res, not vertically like in the picture. Works just fine at about 8 inches of depth. The bad: I did receive a DOA on the second order. The bulb had shattered. Amazon was quick to send a replacement. Did want the busted pump back, but whatever. I'm not knocking a star for this, since stuff happens. Just be aware to check your bulb closely before running it.

Leaked before a month had passed
This worked great and cleared the algae in my pond in a couple of days. It is a pain to get it to stay submerged though. Since the pond has a liner, the suction cups don't grip the uneven sides. Sitting on my counter it grips VERY well! The reason it was on my counter is because the water started to turn green quickly. The pump was working and I had to clean the filter every few days. Last night I didn't see the blue light on, so I brought everything inside to take a look. There was water in the quartz sleeve. I pulled everything apart and it looked like the bulb was burnt also and it was very dirty. Not something I expected being inside the product.A check of the reviews and I see this happens quite frequently. Such a shame as the product worked great in the beginning. I haven't even had it for a month. Not sure if I want to take a chance on another unit or go with another product. I definitely need some kind of filter in my plant pond.UPDATE: I did contact the manufacturer and they are sending a replacement at no charge. They did recommend using some silicone oil around the area of the O ring to help seal the quartz tube and prevent leakage. I will give that a try when the product arrives. Seller was very responsive and helpful.
