You DO have to remove washer and holding piece/bolt
The sanding pad works extremely well. I knocked it down a star, because you must remove the outer holding piece, allen head bolt and inner washer on the Dewault multi-purpose tool in order to mount the pad.

Dimensions are Important
No where does it say that this item is a "3 1/2" sanding pad. This is critical information to know for ordering. Why don't they display the item in it's plastic blister card that it comes in which says right on it, it's a 3 1/2 inch pad. I thought I was ordering a 3 1/8 pad to fit my existing sand paper. So when it arrived, I was a little disappointed that my sandpaper was not going to work with this new pad.Anyways, the pad was really nice so I decided what the heck, and ordered some 3 1/2 sandpaper to fit it. I bought sand paper made by XXGO from Amazon. When I tried the fit, the paper over hung the edge of the pad by about 1/32 all the way around. (See pic)So I thought I would would measure using a caliper the corner to corner distance on this pad, and it measured 3.600 inches. That's like a tenth of an inch more than they say it should be. To add to the craziness, the sand paper didn't measure 3 1/2 either. It measured 3.660, which is a full sixteenth bigger than the pad. Both are advertised to be 3 1/2 inch products. So here is the bottom line. The pad is nice and I gave it 5 stars. It's well constructed and works well. The sand paper being a little bigger is actually a benefit. So, even though none of the dimensions makes sense, it all works together perfectly.

Must have for the oscillating tool!
This little attachment has saved me so much time, effort, and pain in my hands! If you have an oscillating tool and think you will do any kind of sanding, get this. I have used it on wood, bare metal, and 15 year old outdoor painted surfaces. And as long as you use the right grit pad, it makes short work of the job. Excellent product.

Works as Advertised -Updated
I was a little skeptical that this would hold up to a lot of sanding that we do around the house. We are repainting woodwork and 29 doors - a lot of sanding. I though I would try this instead of buying a palm sander. It works great in my DeWalt mulit tool. The quality went beyond my expectations. I wanted a DeWalt branded sanding pad, but this is all I could find on Amazon. Glad I bought it and would buy again if I need a new one.One caveat - I used it to sand sheet rock taping compound today and had a hard time keeping the edges from digging into the material. After I messed up two joints I went back to sandpaper and elbow grease. Not sure what was going on. The pad is much harder than my velcro Dremel pad. I just couldn't seem to keep it flat to prevent gouging. Of course on harder material it likely won't make a difference. Also, the DeWalt tool I was using is new to me and much heavier than the Dremel. It will take some getting used to. If not, I'll buy a palm sander for the jobs I was going to use the DeWalt on.

Excellent sanding attachment for your oscillating tool
I had a small sanding project yesterday and used this oscillating tool attachment with the Dewalt sanding pads. Worked great and the pads stayed in place with no shifting at all. Good value and indispensable if you have the Dewalt multi-tool.
