Read the directions and FAQs
This was easier than I thought. My second set of hands had a migraine, so I tackled this solo. I read some of the other reviews regarding the instructions and watched a video on YouTube that seemed extremely easy. Other than moving the clip band at the top "bulb", which was tough, I did flip the small thin clip on the fender side attachment, since it was noted to be an issue if you didn't, I really had no issues. Secure the hatch firmly to prevent getting clobbered, make sure the fender piece is put in correctly (handout specifically shows that) and if you do one at a time, it's easy to check against the old one. As of now, the 350Z finally pops the hatch for EZ lifting and my son is complaining how hard it is now to close the hatch. There are cheaper versions and more expensive ones (1/2 to 2 x the price) but these seemed like the best value.

Great lifting shock kit!
Bought for replacement on '03 350Z with factory spoiler. Arrived on fifth day from order date. All parts in the box: rod ends, brackets with screws and gaskets, shocks. You don't need to save anything from the original set on the car. Mine came with two business cards in the box with a link on the back for install tips and FAQs. This is an easy DIY. Just use the right tools - 10mm socket, 12mm open end wrench, 13mm socket, someone to help support the liftback. What not to do! I tried to cheat by removing the existing upper rod end with visegrip pliers, and a cut-off disc on a Dremel because I didn't have an open end 12 mm wrench, and didn't want to wait for the stores to open. Turned a 15 minute job into about 45 with lots of &#%$(&@^ for only the upper end of one side! Got the wrench and the other shock was changed out in under 10 minutes. Liftback works great now. Very good product, all parts are direct match replacements from good company.

nice hatch lifts, fast shipping, fit perfect, works great.
I got the lifts in two days, so shipping is lightning fast. It took me 30 minutes in the rain holding an umbrella to install both lifts. I used a broomstick long handle to hold the rear hatch up. All the parts fitted perfectly. You will need 10mm, 12mm and 13mm wrenches. The original ball joints need 12mm wrench to remove, the new ball joints need 13 mm wrench to tighten. Top two nuts need the 10mm wrench. Lift Support Depot is the company and even email the installation instruction, but I found the email a day after I installed.Don't snap the lifts into the brackets or ball joints before installation. Doing this will make installation cumbersome because you have a long swiveling rod attached. The simplest way to install is after removing the old lifts, install the top brackets and the the ball joint without the lifts. Then the lifts will snap in position smoothly. After installed the lifts, first close of the hatch needs a bit stronger pull. After that it very nice and smooth.

Works perfectly on my 08 Z.
Just be careful on how you install them, and pay attention to the directions and you will not install them wrong. Just a little common sense and it's perfect. These work very well and hold my hatch up. I have the Stillen duck bill style spoiler and it still pushes the hatch up. Great replacement.

Workgs great but not as expected.
It solved my damaged support problem but I expected that once I clicked that button the rear door would lift automatically. Wrong, I need to pull it up to a certain point where it will finish opening by itself. And most of the time I need to click the button a second time so that the latch releases the door. Installation was fairly easy, although I had to use a mop stick to keep the door open while installing them. I have the Stillen lip spoiler so it shouldn't be heavy enough to keep the lifts from doing their job. I probably expected too much from them.

Removing retaining pin from fender bracket before installation
How I installed the lifts using information provided by other reviews:Open hatch and hold open with 2 mop/broom handles (One for each side of the hatch lid). Remove old struts and brackets.Struts came with fender bracket attached.Remove retaining pin from fender bracket from both L & R struts and set the retaining pins aside.Install fender bracket with ball pointing down as shown on manufacturer’s directions on both sides without struts attached.Install ball bracket with washer on each side of hatch lid.Snap in struts to hatch ball brackets.Adjust mop handles so that socket on fender struts align with the ball of the fender bracket on each side.Snap socket into ball of fender bracket on both sides.Insert retaining pin on each side. Test to see if hatch lid operates properly. Done. The lifts worked very well on my 2006 350Z.

... were exactly what I needed and I am very satisfied with them
These lift supports were exactly what I needed and I am very satisfied with them. I will buy from this company again because they said what their product is for and they lifted my back hatch once it was lifted over 3 inches they took over and lifted the hatch with ease, plus when I hit remote the hatch opened up far enough from the begining that I did have to fumble and hit the manual button while pulling up on the hatch to get it open which can be a real pain if your hands are full it causes you to have to put everything down on the ground to do this. If you buy these lift supports you will not be let down, a real relief having a product live up to what the company says. Thanks for not ripping me off like the last ones I bought from another company which were actually worse than the old 10 year old ones that were on the car!!!
