A dam good compass.
I used this on a canoe trip on lakes where it was easy to get disoriented around a lot of islands and small coves. I may be a little anal about this but basic navigation is a big deal with me.

Great product!
Excellent compass for the money. Mounting plate works perfect on top of the kayak. Remains stable even in the tougher chop of the Great Lakes. Would highly recommend for long-distance sea kayaking.

Nice size but not meant for curved surfaces
This is a nicely made compass and a great size but it is really not meant for a kayak's curved deck. I had to fabricate some foam blocking on the sides to keep it level. This compass also does not come with any mounting bolts nor is there any way to adjust the declination, but I knew all this from the reviews. It is a great size and I did get it mounted.

NOT FOR ANY VEHICLE. CANNOT BE COMPENSATED.
No mounting screws included. This compass is being placed into a storm chasing vehicle and must be mounted with real hardware and not tape or glue. Found out this compass cannot be compensated. Product description doesn’t state this either. Bait and switch. It’s useless for any vehicle application. Don’t even try it. The image shows the car at 000. The compass reads 052. So now I have a compass that’s useless for my application. A compass of this size for marine use should be adjustable. It’s more like a big toy.
