Love my first tablet.

First, I was led to believe by sources outside of Amazon (plus one reassuring Amazon review) that if I ordered this item I would receive a Huion H610. I am happy to say that I did indeed get a Huion H610. I won't even guess why the item title claims the name Tursion. It is admittedly confusing but I am very satisfied with the Huion H610.I have no experience and so no means for a hands-on comparison with the big name tablet maker's products, but I have only a very few minor complaints with this very affordable, large surface tablet. I would give it 4.5 stars if it were possible because although it is great, I know that there are nicer alternatives that offer a few more features and better support. The slightly nicer alternative are unfortunately five times the price. I use it mostly for photo editing in Photoshop on a Mac and love what new abilities it gives me.Pros:* great sensitivity and very smooth fine control* very affordably priced with few sacrifices* nice large working surface* eight physical buttons and 16 soft keys, all somewhat customizable* decent overall customization options (see below for details)* lightweight but not cheap feeling* detachable USB cableCons:* no tilt or rotation sensitivity like available on some more expensive big name tablets* slightly limited customization options* drivers on the cd didn't work for me, but the instructions pointed me to new drivers on Huion's website* the instructions are not always perfectly clearNotes on Drivers:I had a fairly easy time installing the drivers. I use an iMac running osx 10.8 (mountain lion). I followed the provided instructions and was successful, but it wasn't as straightforward as it could be. I tried the drivers supplied on the cd first. They installed just fine, but the tablet wasn't recognized. After uninstalling the drivers, I got the updated version from Huion's website, installed the new drivers, restarted the computer, plugged in the tablet and was ready to go. Easy.Notes on Customization Options:The instructions do a good job of guiding you through the customization options. The instructions are also available for download on Huion's website if you would like to look at them before purchasing. I won't go into great detail as the instructions do a decent job of explaining your options, but I will note a few key features and limitations. I love that you can do so many different things with the 8 buttons (express keys in their terminology) and 16 soft keys (the instructions say hot cells). Mapping these to my most used keyboard shortcuts lets me do most of my work without the need for either a mouse or keyboard. The options for resizing the active space are basically unlimited but it takes some fiddling. One issue with the customization options is in the limit to the pen button mapping. There are two buttons on the pen that you can customize, but the only options are to have them perform a left click, right click, double left click or double right click. I would much prefer to have more options. Using them to zoom in and out is one option that comes to mind that could be useful. The instructions also show options for adding more than 16 soft keys and something they call hot edges but I don't actually have (or can't figure out how to access) that option; that's fine but misleading. By far the worst, most lacking thing is not having a way to map a middle mouse button click to any button. Without that option I can't scroll. The instructions have a section on how to scroll. It says to use the first pen button while hovering over the tablet, but it isn't working for me. I found a small program for Mac that allows for expanded mouse function options including mapping a keyboard key combination to grab anywhere on the screen. This enables me to scroll, but it is a strange, klugey workaround to an issue that shouldn't exist.Overall, after a somewhat frustrating setup process, I am in love. I've only been using a tablet for a very short time but already I'm finding that I can accomplish photo editing tasks faster and with more precision than with either the apple trackpad I was using before or with a mouse which I have also used in the past. Even, better is that there are now editing options available to me that wouldn't be possible without this tool. I have wanted a graphics tablet for years, but couldn't justify the cost of the big name tablets and wasn't willing to use a terrible low cost alternative. I was told recently that the low cost alternatives are no longer terrible and so I took the plunge. Not only is this Huion H610 not terrible, it is magnificent. Huzzah!

Great Value, but took a while to get the hot keys working.

I ordered the "Sold by Value Max, fulfilled by Amazon" product on 12/22 and got it on 12/24. (Thanks Amazon Prime!) It came in a Turcom box and is labeled Turcom on the tablet. The model # on the back is H610 and on the box it says TS-6610. I installed on a Win7 Pro 64 machine and have two monitors. My pen doesn't have a click type power switch, there is a button, but it's all the way in the pen and doesn't push in or out. Research indicated that this is a newer model pen that shuts off automatically after 30 minutes, so no need for a switch. (I'll update this later if it eats batteries.) BTW - the Huion website sells replacement pens and a new rechargeable pen, but I saw a few reviews that the replacement pens from Monoprice will work too.On to the install:First, I installed from the disk, which had the latest 8.01 driver on it. (The disk is labeled Huion.) The tablet worked fine, I was able to go into the settings and adjust pressure, pen buttons, monitors, etc., and I tested it in CorelDraw X5 - all good there. But in the settings, the express keys were blank and the hot cells showed all around the tablet instead of 16 at the top. The hot cells were pre-populated, but I couldn't get them to work.I downloaded the H610_H580_H608 driver from the Huion website. Same *exact* result as before. (I checked the files against the CD and it showed that some of the binaries were different, but I believe this is the same basic package.)Off of a tip from another reviewer here, I downloaded the H610 Pro driver and ran it as administrator. This worked perfectly. The express keys were pre-populated and worked, and there were 16 hot cells, all undefined, so I had to set them up myself. I've tested it in GIMP, CorelDraw, and Corel PhotoPaint and it works great.FYI - To uninstall the drivers before loading a new set, go to Start - All Programs - Tablet - Uninstall; then Start - devices and printers and find it (mine showed H610 with a keyboard icon and an HID-compliant mouse next to it). Right click - properties - hardware. Click on each listing, then properties, change settings, driver tab, uninstall. Do this for each entry, some will want you to reboot, but you can cancel until you're done with all of them. Reboot and install the driver by clicking the setup.exe file. When the setup is finished, it wants to reboot, don't. Plug in the tablet and let Windows install the drivers. When that's done, you should be able to control your pointer with the tablet, but the settings icon won't show up in your tray... now reboot. The tablet should work and you can see the settings icon in the tray and set your preferences.I'm really happy with this tablet, but I had to knock off a star because of the extra research I had to do to get the hot keys working. Now that I've got it working, it does exactly what I expect it to.
