Waterproof? What the heck do you mean? You soak it in water, spread the seeds, and then it grows. If you put a bunch more water on it, the seeds will probably wash off. What would you plan to do with a waterproof Chia Pet? May I redirect you to Gore Tex?

Do you have to plant the seeds right away? Giving this as a gift for Christmas. Recipient wont open for a month.

Good question. Each Chia Pet box has sticker with a date stating when the seeds were tested, and a “sell by” date. I would say purchase no later than the “sell by” date to be safe (may be worth it to ask the seller directly about their product) The seeds should work well even after the “sell by” date, but since this is intended as a gift, it’s best to be sure you have a good amount of time left.

Humorous & funny to watch grow!! Must buy!

I had no issues or complaints regarding my results using this product. Read the instructions. You can’t see it grow unless you give it what it needs; one thing I would say is follow the directions CLOSE. Don’t skip certain steps because you think it isn’t necessary; I did it exactly how they explain. the soaking process of the poop emoji, etc. as well as putting the plastic bag over the Chia pet for the first few days till it starts to bud & mine is perfectly okay & still growing! Only a few days so far and we love it 🤣😂🙃

I think it’s cute but…

I returned it. It was a gift for a friend whose jokes are “poop” and “fart” related. Thought he’d like it, sadly he didn’t .. if you’ve got a friend with a fun sense of humor, go for it. I’d recommend it
