Functional, but glaring design flaw - Please read before buying
First off, the product does everything it says it does, so no issues there. However there is an obvious and fatal flaw in the design, and it is the reason I ended up mounting it on the underside of my desk (as pictured.) Read on:If it were a simple USB hub then the input/output port configuration matters a little less because you're generally not reaching for the hub all the time. You can tuck it out of the way if you choose, or have it somewhere more accessible for hot-swapping thumb-drives etc. Some hubs lend themselves well to neat desktop use (slanted front panels etc) and others are more "industrial", but either way there's plenty to choose from.... However, this product has a button on the top to facilitate it's PRIMARY FUNCTION which is to quickly switch devices between computers. As such, the typical user is probably going to want to have it on their desk within easy reach - perhaps near their keyboard or monitor, but certainly on the desktop. For this reason it makes NO SENSE to have ports on both sides of the device. To use the full, DC powered, functionality of the unit - you will have four cables coming out one side and 3 out the other. This results in an ugly, cumbersome spider of wires on your desk (remember, you want to have this close by.) All the ports should have been in the back of the unit. Even if it resulted in a longer, thinner box. Personally, I would have preferred it to be thicker/taller overall with two rows of connectors on one side. If all the ports were on one side, you could Blu-tack or gorilla tape the unit to your desk and have all the cables going in one, neat, direction out of view - whilst still having access to the button. The designers should have thought more carefully about the practical use case here. The users that are likely to need this device are not in the market for a hub (or already have one.) The devices they are plugging in are not likely to need to be changed (keyboard, mouse, printer etc.) and therefore access to ports at the front is probably not needed.Again, to round out the compliment sandwich here - I have no issue with the build quality and it does what it needs to do. However, before you buy - consider whether or not you will be needing easy access to the 'hub' features. If you do want to quickly swap stuff out between computers, then maybe it makes some sense. If, like me, you want a hardwired solution with an easy to reach switch - perhaps look at some of the alternatives that have a remote button.

Worked great for a year, now ports fail constantly
I was decently happy with this for about a year, but now ports regularly fail and I have to go through song and dance of reloading USB drivers/restarting hardware/shuffling peripherals through the ports until everything works. Cheap and effective enough for its duration but now frustrated.

Mostly works great
Let's start with the caveat that I've only been using the product for a few weeks. Mostly the product has been doing exactly what it says, which is taking my USB peripherals (mouse, keyboard, and headphones) and routing them to either of 2 computers (not BOTH).I got this because I've been working from home, so I brought my laptop home, but I still have my gaming machine. I was tired of either swapping out the cables each time I wanted to switch after work, or keeping 2 different keyboards and mice on my desk. This thing lets me swap with a single button press, and it's pretty small. Also, even though it CAN be powered (using a USB C cell-phone style plug), I haven't had to power mine with just the 3 low-energy peripherals. The reason I knocked a star off is that my mouse got into a weird state the other day where I actually had to swap which front port I was plugging it into in order for my computer to recognize it. Other than that, it's been flawless. It also comes with 2 USB 3.0 cables, so you don't need to buy those (like I did) to run to each of your machines.

So wonderful!
I have to say, I was very impressed with how plug and play this is. Exactly what I was looking for.I am now using a single keyboard and mouse with 2 machines, one is a Windows, and the other is Linux distro, and it works like a charm. Really make my life easier.Don't get scared when you look at the back and see that mini-usb power connection slot, I have not needed to use it. I have both machines connected to it and it works great (without needed to add the usb power). Even if I have one of the machines turned off, it still has power and works for the other machine.I gave it 4 stars because of just one thing, and this could just be me, but the way its designed, cables are connected on both sides of this tiny device, and since its a physical button that you have to press to switch between the machines, I must have it on my desk, so it creates a little clutter of cables, which I'm not a fan of.As I said, its only an "neat" thing for me, but functionality wise? 5 stars.

Flawless USB 3.0 Switch for 2 computers
This product simply worked very well. The included cables are heavy duty, good quality. Operationally it really gives me a seamless switch between two computers. I hung a keyboard and a mouse between two laptops in docking stations, and after initial startup it does exactly what it should. Near zero latency. Functionally it does what I need really well.I only gave it 4 stars because I have an issue and an area for improvement. The issue is related to the fact that many will want to use a power cable to the box, which is not included. The box was advertised as self powering, and that is only partially true. If you hang heavy duty items on the USB, the documentation recommends that you connect an external power through a mini-usb connector. I will hang an external drive along with the mouse and keyboard when I am doing backups, so I have gone ahead and added power. As to improvement, I would prefer that both the input and output ports were all on the back side. The two input cables hang in the front, and ergonomically this is awkward on my desktop.Even with the issues, I still give it 4 stars. Nice small unit, good switch, does what I needs.

Worked for 8 months under mild use
The switch has started providing errors and failure notifications that are verified in the Device Manager. Worked great until now but is an issue. I guess I have to look elsewhere for this functionality.

Excelente compra!

Allows me to use my keyboard and mouse for 2 computers.
This has tidied my (physical) desktop and given me more space so I can use my iMac and my old Mac Mini with one keyboard and mouse. I need to have the Mini available as it runs an older OS which allows me to use my purchased version of Photoshop rather than having to pay through the nose for the newer version.

Okayish
Switcher is good, but the button is always weird and sticky however this product helps me to use my mouse and keyboard on two machines at once.

Would recommend
I don’t usually leave reviews but this is a great piece of tech! Currently using to switch between my work mac and home desktop but have the switch mounted underneath my desk. Cheers
