Jam sesh? Everything you need.
Easy to read=easy to jam.Yes, it only has 2 Uke pages (as other reviews have stresses), but that’s all you need to jam on the uke!! Love the page layouts- starts with page of all the common chords in the typical keys, then another page with each key with the I, IV, V and VII chords. They give more pages of detail after the charts, if you want to tighten up your chops, like seventh, diminished, augmented, suspended chords, arpeggios and some scale info. Banjo has 4 and 5 string charts AND charts for a bazillion alternative tunings. Not terribly excited about the blank do-it-yourself pages at the end, but hey- bonus.Nothin but love for J. Bruce Jones for creating this book.

Mandolin chords seem off
The chord charts for mandolin seem unreliable. For example, the C chord is depicted with the G and E strings with an x instead of o, and other C variants are shown sometimes with those strings x’d and sometimes o’d. There is no explanation as to why open G and open E should not be part of the C chord.

This book might be useful if you have an instructor to answer your many ...
This book only contains 39 pages of information; the remaining pages are worksheets. It contains only 14 pages of guitar chords and theory with inadequate explanations. It contains only 6 pages of mandolin chords and 2 pages of ukulele chords. The remaining 16 pages are for banjo in various tunings. The book attempts to cover basic open chords, barre chords, movable chords and power chords for the guitar in too few pages. It covers basic mandolin chords, 2 finger chords and arpeggio scale, but doesn't cover double stops and again its explanations are inadequate. This book might be useful if you have an instructor to answer your many questions, but as a stand alone (learning) resource it doesn't cut it. If you play several of these instruments during your jam sessions and you need a single resource for chord and key progression reminders then this might be useful.

useless for ukulele players
There are two pages in this book that are useful for ukulele players. And those two pages contain information that can be found in multiple other places. I gave it two stars because it is useful for guitar, or perhaps for an instructor of multiple string instruments. I'm going to either give it away or sell it.

Practice, Practice, Practice!!!
There was a very famous violinist who was being interviewed at the age of 90! When asked by the interviewer if he still practiced after all these years, the violinist replied "Yes, I think I'm started to get the hang of it!!!"Keep at it and don't give up! This book will help you and I use it every day when I Practice, Practice, Practice!!!

excellent reference guide
As somebody whose wanted to learn everything at the same time, ie Ukulele, banjo and now mandolin I’m very grateful for this quick and easy to follow reference guide. Hopefully it will back up my ailing memory to play basic chords for each where needed, in time?

Helpful
I bought this book because I had all the instruments so the chords pages and tuning sections were very helpful as I'd didn't know much about mandolins and banjos.I learned how to play these instruments through using this book. The mandolin section showed me all about 2 finger chords, which made playing the mandolin so easy. The only problem you might find is, if you only have 1 of these instruments then its not much use for you.I loved it and was glad I bought it.

Paper version maybe best unless you have 3 hands
I got the kindle version and maybe should have got the book.On my standard kindle some of the images are small and moving around the page to see next chord with the navigation key is a pain if you are also holding an instrument to try and actually play the chords. This book gives you the most useful and used chords for a number of instruments and alternative tunings and is a great reference work for the price
