Being a finance professional it has definitively added perspective . Finance professional spend a lot of time number crunching, transactional processing , controlling, reporting , auditing etc, the primarily focus is looking inwards. Fund raising , investor relations too hover around communicating company's future plans and current progress. As such the day to day functioning rarely requires finance professionals to delve on what the company stands for or what it stood for and why we are business, what are the assumptions , are the summations changing etc. Economic environment yes, political environment perhaps perhaps, internal official environment oh of course.
