Sweet spot for using this is 2 days of growth. Leaves nearly a 5 O'clock shadow - meaning that after using this you're maybe half a day from easily seeing the stubble. I have not tried shavers that are significantly more expensive than this, but for the price, I am not terribly upset. It's light and plastic, but doesn't feel terribly cheap. The magnets are a nice touch to make it easy to maintain (by opening and cleaning). The one button design is nice. It is comfortable to hold. I love that it uses USB-C to charge. The battery lasts more than a few shaves. When I first used it, I had 5 days of hair growth, and it couldn't tackle it. I used a moderately priced electric clipper without a guard to start the shave, which is what I do often if I clean shave with a manual cartridge razor, and haven't shaved in about a week+. This will not get a baby smooth shave. It gets a little bit closer than the electric clipper. The electric clipper doesn't take as much time. I honestly think other than prep and drying of manual shaving, this electric razor is slow and takes a lot time to use. If it were double the price, I'd knock it down to 3 stars. If it were triple the price, I'd knock it down to 2 stars. If it were quadruple the price, I'd knock it down to 1 star. Attached photos show two things. One, my head with one side showing 2 days of hair growth, and the other after spending a 2 or 3 minutes doing multiple passes with this electric foil shaver. Then the other after 5-6 minutes of using the electric foil shaver on my entire head. I think from a distance of more than arm's length it's passable, for at least the first half of the day after using this razor... But maybe I'm nitpicking, because for many years I've always done a manual shave where my head would get super smooth and clean looking, while this still feels a bit sandpaper'ish after being used extensively.
