I got these ice buckets to keep cold food and condiments chilled while entertaining out by the pool. Here's what I found when checking these out: 1. You get 3 good sized bucket. The measurements are in-line with what's on the product page. 2. The buckets claim to be 4 gallons. This really isn't the case because the handles take off about 2 inches of the 6.3 inch depth. You really can't fill the buckets with ice beyond the base of the handles or it will simply fall out through the holes. It would've been better to have the traditional floppy handles rather than the large openings. 3. The metal on the buckets is a bit thin. They might dent or deform easily if not handled with care. I'm not overly concerned with this, but it could be an issue if dropped or stored in a cabinet with heavy pots and pans. 4. The inside of the buckets have a nice rubber sealant on the seams to ensure the buckets are water tight, and they are indeed water tight. The seals appear to be well done and strong, but it is a point of failure that could be an issue. I wouldn't recommend putting these in the dishwasher or hand washing them with really hot water to keep the seals safe. 5. Obviously, the buckets aren't insulated so it's reasonable to expect them to sweat with ice in them on a hot, humid day. How much they sweat might make them troublesome under those circumstances. I don't suspect it to be much of a problem, especially if you keep the ice volume to a minimum. However, the open nature and the lack of insulation will likely make the ice melt quicker. The open handles should make it easier to pour out some existing water before adding more ice. 6. While the buckets might have some concerns when being used with ice on hot days, they'll also be excellent as planters, for carrying condiments or grill tools, storing stuff, or a a nice large chip bowl. The uses can easily keep up with even the wildest imagination. The buckets are well made, and look great. Having 3 of them helps to create a theme when serving or decorating with them. I'm very pleased with them and look forward to using them out by the pool this spring. While they may not be perfect as ice buckets, they'll do fine and look great in the process. I may get another set to use as planters to complete the look out by the pool. If you're looking for nice buckets that are very versatile, these get a solid recommendation from me.
