What is black sesame oil?

Can I cook with it, or is it just for finishing?

You can cook with it, it is just pretty strong, so most people just tend to use a little drizzle at the end -- like drizzling it into noodles or soups or stir-fries. You can use it for cooking, too, if you aren't worried about bold flavour.

Is black sesame oil good for me?

Yes, there are many good fats inside black sesame oil, plus there are some antioxidants in it as well.

Does it taste the same as "regular" sesame oil?

No. It's deeper, more earthy, it has a roasty flavour that regular sesame oil does not have. If you like bold, nutty flavours, then you will probably like it. If not, then start with a smaller amount just to see how you like it.

How do I store it at home?

Store it in a cool, dark place... like a cupboard that is out of direct sunlight. You do not have to refrigerate it, but don't store it next to your stove when cooking. It should last a while if you store it properly.
