Great quality and great price
This cellphone holder was delivered in a nice box, with slips for instructions and other notes, very similar to an Anker product. The product itself feels very nice quality with solid plastic and soft touch rubber padding along the back and bottom hooks to keep the phone secure and free from scratches. The holding mechanism works excellently by simply clamping down as you squeeze the two sides together, and releases well as you press the button on the rear. The clamp that attaches to your AC vent itself is well designed with two rubber pads that squeeze together to make a tight grip.My only fear of this type of holder is damaging the car vent. But I hate the style that suctions to your windshield as it blocks your view. I’m not a fan of any other style also which takes up either your electric port, or a space in your cup holder. I tried for a while to use a bicycle style holder that I placed around my emergency brake handle. That actually works pretty well but the holder itself had broken after several years.I saw this holder at a good value for two at $8 and I am very pleased with the good quality and good value. Holding up strong so far and it doesn’t look like it will go out any time soon.

Adapt to use
I love these holders because they hold my phone pretty well. I had bought another holder that adhered to my dashboard, but was magnetic and doesn’t hold my phone well. So I unscrewed the actual part that holds my phone and replaced it with this holder. Works great.

Used with Galaxy S9
Wanted something that was easily removable and didn't require a magnet - that might accidentally lay havoc on my credit cards. The Ailun Car Phone mount for Air vent (2pack) was what I chose.Firstly - as stated, these mounts work best on horizontal vent blades. However, although they state not to use them on vertical blades, we found they do stay on fine to vertical blades. What we found is they don't stay well on the rounded vents that spin - like on my wife's Nissan Rogue. When placed on rotating vents, the weight of the phone will just spin the holder with the phone whenever you make a turn. With the Rogue, there is a side vent closest to the driver-side door that is vertical but does not rotate. The mount does fit and works with a Galaxy S9 in this vertical vent. The other of the 2pack is in my Toyota with horizontal vents and works just fine.I've used it for a couple trips and the phone stayed in the cradle very well and the cradle mount stayed on the vent really well - tight turn made it move a little, but I was able to reposition with no problem. The mount is connected to your vent blades with an alligator-clip-like plastic piece. Press to separate the teeth, put it into the vent and then lock the teeth. The alligator clip connects by a ball-hinge to the cradle for the phone. The phone sits on a bottom rest piece and the side pieces are pushed together snug. To release the side handles, there is a button easily accessible in the back that slowly opens the sides. The mounts are inexpensive, and they feel that way, but they work as described with horizontal vents and may work with your vertical vents too.The cradle is rather large and holds the Galaxy s9 comfortably.CON: I do worry about driving for a while with the vent blowing hot air directly onto the phone. I don't know if this is a legitimate cause for concern, but since most of my trips will be short it won't be an issue. I am unable to "close" the vent, so longer rides I'll need to possibly switch the vent to "feet" only or something.

Good given its price
It was easy to assemble but it felt like it can easily break after we installed. It can't hold an iphone x max well horizontally but vertically, there's no problem. It can easily rotate and stay in place. It is also easy to adjust to fit the width of your phone. I give it a 3/5 rating bc although there are many good features of this product, it doesn't feel like the phone is in safe hands thus making me worry a lot.

Looks nice, but is basically just garbage.
I bought this set because it looked like a good quality product, and my boyfriend NEEDed a phone mount to put in a secure location as he has a long-standing dangerous habit of taking eyes off the road and one hand off the wheel to select music or lookup directions while driving (or both hands if he's tying his hair back while driving), resulting in jerking motions and such, which terrifies me - and he gets annoyed when I freak out about his habit of doing this with me in the car.... he also sometimes has to retrieve the phone, while driving, after it slides off his leg and falls to the floor, either between the seat and the center console or in front of his seat .... yes, he is of the male species, therefore he does not think things through; we often discuss this subject matter.Anyway, I thought it would be useful to have 2 of these so that I'll have one ready for when I eventually drive a car of my own (which I do now, but the extra one is still sitting in the box, and here's why)... It worked fine for the first week or so, but the damned thing broke not even 2 weeks into using it... maybe due to the rapid change in weather, or simply due to poor quality product, but he tried to fix it by supergluing the broken piece back together (twice!), to no avail; the repair(s) did not hold. Of course, by the time I learned of this, it was too late to file a complaint as my return window had passed, and I was stuck with having wasted $$ on this useless junk.Long story short, I do not recommend this product.
