So far this has worked on light ice but I’ve not been over impressed with this since I took it out of the box. It is very lightweight and the plastic is pretty thin. It doesn’t feel flimsy but I sort of suspect that if there is anything beyond a light frost on a windshield, and this has been cold after sitting in a car overnight, that it won’t take much to break this. Now, I live in ND, so I’m used to using ice scrapers to scrape actual frozen water, not just frost. I would guess that this is intended for frost that accumulates occasionally on a car in North Carolina, not day-to-day use in North Dakota. For North Carolina use, this is probably adequate. For North Dakota this is probably not the answer. I’d also caution for those that aren’t used to scraping anything off of vehicle windows… while this says it is intended for Cars, SUVs, and Trucks… it is probably only adequate for windshields on small cars as there is no way a hand scraper would work for the average person on any kind of SUV or Truck as it just doesn’t provide the reach.

The handle is a comfortable foam that wont get cold as the plastic does and will provide decent grip to ensure it stays in your hand when scraping light ice from your windows. It's lightweight and well enough constructed for light work. I'll stress light work, because if you are trying to dislodge iceberg thick ice on your windshield and put too much pressure on this, its weak point is definitely the change in shape/size of the handle to the wedge scraper. This is where this tool will break, not on the scraping end. This won't scratch your glass.. certainly only use it on your automotive glass and not the paint of your car. -1 star for the design weakpoint, but other than that -- its small and convenient to store and always keep in your car, truck, or minivan.
