This island was a perfect solution to a small kitchen with no counter space. The drawers are a little small but they are still usable. The trash can took a while to find a good fit but if you go with a 9 gallon it opens and closes perfectly. It is very sturdy and seems to hold up well to use. I also like the folding side table. If I need more space I can fold it down or if I need more seating I can lock it up into place.

Overall I do like this in my kitchen. With that said these are things that I disliked about it. I found the large storage box on the end out of place and more of a hip bruiser more than anything. The 3 drawers are not long enough for standard sized cooking utensils, and forget about silverware tray. The racks attached to the left and right doors are too heavy alone much less with items stored in them. (removed mine and so much nicer to close) the center trash bin door is fantastic, but good like finding a can the fits in the space provided (11 inch x 14 inch base and 22 inches high) I disliked the black stickers used to cover various holes, they aren't a match for the wood grain. Seriously, looks likevi put black stickers on it. The plastic pieces used to secure the large "boards" came in a reddish brown color, i didn't use them because it looked cheap and tacky. The plug in cord isn't secured any place and dangles oddly. Lastly, the slider top doesn't sit flush over the drawer side. It isn't set up to be and that was a bummer. But it has needed storage space and counter space.

So I just finished building this kitchen island. It took about 4hrs to build but overall easy instructions to follow. I do have a few issues with it but can live with it. First, the drawers on the top aren't standard. You get jib on space as there is space to make them standard but some reason they aren't so you have space behind the top drawers. Second, I dislike the outlet holes. I don't plan to use the power strip. I live in an older apartment. I had a previous kitchen island beforehand for more storage, I picked this one as it meant my specs of a trash bin inside, along with it being enclosed & space. There is no outlet where I have the kitchen island. Unfortunately most island come with power strips now a days, which ideally is nice but not if the apartment you are in that doesn't have a floor outlet. So if you don't DIY something to cover it, you will have holes. (I plan to use tile peel & stick to use to make it look nicer while covering the holes. The towel rack I wish it was a paper towel rack instead, but I just drilled a hole through one of the peices to make it into one. Third, I do love the shelf inside the cabinets but I hate that it takes space away from the inside but I can make due with it. Other than that, it's fine. FYI: the instructions tells you to put the 2 wheel locks on one side. I recommend putting one on each side as it still moves if you have the locks on one side as the instructions intend for it.

Loved it once we got it together. Shipping was fast on it and it's very sturdy. Love all The storage for my spices I was able to get all but the little small ones a few huge ones out of the cabinet. Do note it does come in two boxes and will take you over 8 hours to put together. I'd recommend using a drill with a scerw bit or your arm will hurt by the end of it

The counter top is designed to move forward and back. There are pins underneath that hold that hold the counter top in place. Unfortanely there are no holes predrilled to pin the counter top to stay flush with top drawers. Be prepared to drill 2 holes underneath the counter top. Be sure not to drill completely through the top.

Only 4 stars because it is extremely time consuming to put together. My husband and son are handy men and it took the 2 of them about 6 hours to put together. That said, once together, it is exactly what I was looking for! Sturdy, attractive and space saving if you need it to be with the drop leaf top. Does arrives in 2 separate boxes and may arrive on different days. Mine arrived on a Thursday and the 2nd box, the very next day. You will not be sorry purchasing this. Worth the money!
