This item needs pulled off the site the market it is not safe its a burn and fire hazard !!! this thing shorted out in less then 5 min burn my hand til i ould drop it and unplug be careful people

This is wonderful you have 2 sizes which is good, it works well heats fast and cut easily.

Was hoping to use this with a thick foam board. It started smoking to start, then it wouldn’t cut through my thick foam board (even read the recommended foam type). Ended up bending the wire.

Amazing tool but don't force it to cut it stops heating off and on but the designs are cool once u cut with it!!

I originally picked up this 30W foam cutter kit to carve out some custom polystyrene inserts for an Apache hard case I use to organize my 3D printing tools. For a DIY project like that, it's a huge step up from hacking away with a utility knife. When the pens are working correctly, they heat up almost instantly and glide through dense styrofoam with very little resistance, leaving a nice, sealed edge that doesn't crumble into a million static-cling mess pieces. Having both the 5cm and 10cm wands is a great touch for switching between deep cuts and more detailed shaping. That being said, the build quality definitely feels like a bit of a gamble. While the handle stayed relatively cool during my short sessions, the heat consistency is fairly unpredictable. There were a few times where the wand seemed to lose its "juice" mid-cut, forcing me to stop and wait for it to reach peak temperature again before I could finish the line. This can be pretty frustrating if you're trying to make one long, continuous sweep. Also, you absolutely need to use this in a well-ventilated area—I set mine up in the garage with the door open because the fumes from the melting foam are no joke. Another thing to keep in mind is the stand; it’s a very basic piece of stamped metal that feels pretty flimsy. Given how hot these tips get (the manual says 450°C), you have to be incredibly careful about where you set the pen down so you don't accidentally singe your workbench or a stray power cord. At the end of the day, it's a handy and affordable little kit for small craft projects or custom case organization. As long as you treat it with a healthy amount of caution and don't try to force the blade through the foam, it gets the job done—just don't expect industrial-grade reliability.
