Rolling Lawn Aerator - Rolling Aerator Lawn Tool with Replaceable Hollow Tines - Green

I was excited to try this product and finally get a solution to aerating the lawn that didn't cost an arm and a leg. Was easy to set up, sturdy, and when you put the weight in, the difference is notable. Product worked great to actually aerate the lawn, but unfortunately, i used this product one time and 2 tines broke off. Clearly not a long term solution. Idea is there, but quality could be a lot better.

This aerator worked great! I waited until after a good rain and then dragged it around behind me as I walked through the yard. The plugs definitely were removed. I filled it by getting cheap sand from the hardware store and laying it over a steps outside to let it drain in. The provided funnel was faster than the deeper, taller kind. The wheels were helpful for manupeuvering the device. And the experience reminded me of pulling a manual lawnmower - more work than a typical walk behind but definitely doable. I also found it challenging to figure out how to store it so that it was not resting on tines on a cement floor. The best part for me is that I don’t have to add this to my monthly lawn service cost whereby you get used to auto renewing for a higher price because of a separate service that you could do yourself. So, I did. It run into any problems - although I did notice that one of the times was missing but then they provided an extra tine. Right now, I am using this blank to prevent a tine from breaking into the drum, but I wish it has a docking startion for storage and safe keeping.. We’ll see how the lawn look over time and how log it lasts, but in 2 years I will more than break even and after that’s sweat equity earned. I am posting this here because this is the listing that I purchased from, but the company has a another listing for the same device and also sells replacement times separately.

It works, but it's hard work! I filled it with play sand to give it some weight and it really works, but man it's a workout... Still beats going to home Depot and renting a machine and doing it that way. The tool itself feels incredibly sturdy and strong and hasn't given any issues for the couple of times I used it.

This thing is very well made! Using extremely well organized hardware, instructions and all the tools you'll need to put this together, makes this almost fun to build. Heck they even supply you with spare parts. For my money, it works great. It pulled out a nice fat little plug with every spoke and that's all I was asking it to do. You will need your big girl/boy jeans to push it through your yard, but it's doable and I'm 69.

Works great for my application but expect a workout

When I assembled the aerator I discovered a bearing cover missing on one of the wheels. I sent a picture of the wheel to the company and asked for a replacement. They offered me $20 and said I could have lifetime wheel replacements, but the cover was only there to keep dust out. I replied back letting them know that the function of the aerator would introduce dirt and debris into exposed bearings due to the nature of the tool. They then offered to send a replacement wheel. That was nice of them, but should have been the solution from the start. The 2nd issue was that the weld on one of the tines broke off during the first use of the aerator. At this point the QC of the tool and quality of the product has me requesting a refund.

I wish I could add more weight, but does work very well. It will pull out some nice plugs.
