I have had this outside on the east coast for one year through one winter and it's still going strong on the original batteries. The motion detection is good, if you grab the handle bars or bump the bike it makes a loud beep, if you do it again an alarm goes off for 15 seconds or so. It's an excellent noise deterrent. If you were to try and steal the bike by either breaking this lock or picking the bike up the alarm would be very annoying to the thief.Just a good product, weather proof and functions perfectly. The one and only thing that I would prefer is if it were bright yellow/red/orange to make it more conspicuous to potential thieves as well as myself. The cable lanyard is a great addition as a physical reminder to remove the lock.- Update 2 years in and the original batteries finally died. Up until this point functioning perfectly outdoors 4 seasons of mid-atlantic weather. I replaced the batteries with an allen wrench and included battery replacement set of 6 LR44 and carriage. It took 10 minutes. Hopefully it will go another 2 years on this set of batteries.Perfect performance, quality, durability and price.

I got one for each of my bikes. They work fine and the battery life is very long. Two or Three years before I had to change them. Yes, if someone wants to take them they will find a way but most of the time I hear the alarm and gives me a chance to make sure my video cameras are taking good pictures of the thieves. Better than regular disk locks.

I was initially in the hunt for a strong no-frills disc lock for my motorcycle. I am living in an apartment with a controlled access closed parking garage (actually open during business retail hours on one end) and I needed some confidence parking it alongside my SUV. This thing does the trick in a few awesome ways:1) Secure! This bike inside going to "roll off" from me while I'm away. The lock itself is hefty and the pin is locked into place on the brake disc firmly. Just a hint of wiggle is good too.2) Alarm with obvious sound dB. It gives you around 5 seconds to lock it into place and the alarm is set. You'll hear a loud chirp to inform you that you got a few seconds to secure and the sensor is activated. Same goes for when you need to unlock. You got a few seconds before sirens.3) "Warning" Notice. Once you got it locked on your bike, it's on high alert! The motion sensor in the lock will pick up handlebar/wheel movement, bumping, and slow rolling. Pretty sensitive but not annoying. The lock will chirp, chirp, chirp letting any would be thief to back off. Mess with it again within a few seconds and SIRENS! It won't go forever (we all know how ineffective an alarm is when its just going off forever) and it will repeat the notice to siren sequence. People around will notice. It's loud but not deafening.4) Bonuses. Includes a wire tether so you can remind yourself that you have a lock on your bike. It also helps in would-be-thieves to move on from this bike. Just another deterrence for them to shy away from. As I mentioned about the sensor, this actually helps me park my chunky SUV into the same spot. I rigged a little cushion on the the turned handlebar so that I could "tap" it with the car without worrying about knocking it over. If I make contact and go too far it will trip the sensor letting me know I've gotten too close to dropping the bike.This lock is legit. Give it a try! A+++

Just picked this up as a extra source of security. Lock was delivered super fast. Comes with 3 keys, extra batteries and a little bag. It’s got some weight to it and doesn’t feel super cheap. Takes just seconds to install.My lock will only leave the disc when I am riding so it’s locked EVERYWHERE I go. Feels so much nicer running inside the store knowing this is on the bike. I love to lock my bike up with a chain and master lock but hate carrying that around. This is light enough that it won’t ever bother me in my bag.I don’t care if it’s waterproof or not because my bike won’t ever be in the rain. I guess bad guys can dump water on it before they attempt to cut it or carry it away so that would suck.

This lock alarm is awesome! I loved it the second i put it on. It makes a loud beep beep when you close the locking mechanism to let you know the alarm is active. It's cool because anyone around you can hear that you have an alarm on your motorcycle! This thing is solid as a rock and i love the handlebar cable to remind me that its on and to keep my helmet on my bike without worrying of theft. It has a warning triple beep to let potential theives know its armed when someone touches it. Then if its tampered again the alarm goes of. And it is gut wrenching, ear bleeding, soul scratching loud!! Its sensitive enough to know when your bike is being touched but not too much to where noise will set it off. Loud thunder will set it off tho lol. We had a thunderstorm the day after i got this and the i was in the kitchen in the back of my house when I heard the warning beeps go off. I ran outside but upon further investigation it was nothing to worry about. I love the key. It's really unique unlike those cheap diary keys or vending machine keys. Its impossible to pick this lock or even attempt to without setting the alarm off! Dont hesitate on buying this with how much people are stealing bikes these days!

Absolutely a must have for keeping your motorcycles safe. The build is robust and solid. Fit and finish is excellent and the chrome blends in perfectly with the parts so doesn't look goddy. The spiral cable which needs to be slid over the handle grips is a great reminder that the lock is attached.I ordered 2 for both front and the rear wheel.The Alarm is shrieking loud, and warns up with the slightest movement. This keeps unwanted people for touching the bike.

Avec ce bloc disque je suis tranquille pour mon vélo a assistance électrique, je met quand même un antivol arrimé à un poteau. Il fait beaucoup de bruit pour quiconque le touche. Arrivée très rapidement. Très bon rapport qualité prix et il pèse 560g
