Don't waste your money!
Memory card won't lock in. Just falls right out. Makes recorder kinda pointless. And it won't hook up to a computer. Which makes it more worthless. So now it's a rectangular weight in my pocket that does the same thing as an app on my phone. Don't buy this brand.

Anyone shopping in this price category will find it a capable and honest option.Voice clarity in recordings is good and that is the most important metric for a device like this. The built in microphone picks up sound from a reasonable distance which makes it practical for recording across a room or lecture hall. The trade-off is sensitivity to handling noise, so placing it flat on a table away from accidental bumps produces significantly cleaner recordings than holding it.Playback through the built in speaker is tinny and hollow as expected for a device this size and price. Headphones improve the experience noticeably though do not expect premium audio reproduction. Music playback is similarly unexceptional. Voices are clear which is the point.The buttons are hard plastic, wobble slightly, and require deliberate pressing to register. The device itself is very light and feels like just a casing with a system board inside, nothing more. The menu system uses a fixed width font that feels like a mid-2000s MP3 player but navigates logically once you learn it. There is a brief delay of a couple seconds between switching to record and actual recording beginning which is worth knowing to avoid missing the start of something important.File transfer on Mac is plug and play showing up as a USB disk immediately. Separate audio input and output jacks offer flexibility depending on use case. The 8GB internal storage is adequate and the TF card expansion up to 128GB covers any extended recording needs.A decent and honest value for a no frills recording device that is easy to use.

Good recording device for the money
The menu selection for finding the playback selection and other options are not as clear and intuitive I would like. But the recording & playback sound quality is fine.
