Medunor Smart Security Box – Your All-in-One Safe for Modern Life The Medunor Smart Security Box (Model: BX330) is more than just a safe—it’s a smart, stylish, and versatile storage solution designed to protect your most valued possessions. Whether you need to secure handguns, jewelry, cash, medicines, or confidential documents, this biometric safe delivers top-tier security with cutting-edge technology. Review: Solid Build, so-so Fingerprint, Great Dark-Room Access - Quality & Build: The exterior feels sturdy with a nice finish and decent weight—not premium, but far from a cheap knockoff. It's a solid middle-ground option. The interior has a rubberized liner on the bottom and sides, which helps protect contents and reduces noise. Power & Features: It uses 4 AAA batteries as backup and includes a standard power adapter/cable for primary power. There is a USB-C and USB-A port on the outside that receive power (handy for charging devices), plus one USB-A port inside the unit that only gets power when the drawer is closed and the box is plugged in/powered. The power cord's wall plug has a bright blue LED that's way too intense and probably unnecessary—I'll be covering or taping it over, but it's a minor annoyance. Unlocking & Security: It comes with emergency keys that insert into the rear to override and open it. Out of the box, any finger seems to unlock it initially—it doesn't work well (or at all) without setup through the Tuya app. The Tuya app is decent overall, though it's clearly a Chinese app translated to English (like the included pamphlet, you'll notice some awkward phrasing but it's not a dealbreaker). From the app, you can add fingerprints and codes. The fingerprint scanner is a bit finicky—I had to re-scan the same finger a couple times to get reliable recognition. It's not cellphone level seamless, but I've added 4 fingers and tested a bunch of times and I feel pretty good about it opening when it matters. Tip: When enrolling, vary your finger angle and really capture the sides/edges you might use in real life. Display, Lighting & Usability in the Dark: The built-in display is a nice touch—it cycles between date, time (12/24-hour format), and temperature (in Celsius). There's also an alarm clock function. A big plus in low-light or dark conditions: the entire keypad and fingerprint sensor are backlit. In the dark, it's easy to feel the row of buttons on the number pad. Instead of fumbling for the fingerprint reader or trying to enter a code blindly, just press any button on the keypad—it lights up the whole panel (buttons + sensor), making it very quick and intuitive to locate and use your finger or enter your code. This is a practical feature that really improves everyday usability. The unit has an anti-tamper alarm that triggers on repeated failed attempts. (Note: It's unclear to me exactly how to silence it—using a correct finger/code didn't stop it; it seems to time out eventually, or you can use the emergency key or unplug the power. There may be a better way that I haven't found yet.) Overall: This is a pretty good smart gun safe/lockbox with useful features like app control, multiple unlock methods, backlit controls for easy dark-room access, the display, and USB ports. The fingerprint reliability takes some tweaking, the app feels a bit foreign (but has good reviews), and that bright blue LED on the plug is a small but noticeable flaw, but it gets the job done without major issues. Solid choice if you're looking for something smarter than basic mechanical options but don't need top-tier polish. Review: Added peace of mind for securing valuables in your home, office, or vehicle - This smart security box is awesome! It's very heavy duty and it works perfectly. The drawer is also very spacious and can hold a variety of items that you would enjoy having added peace of mind knowing they are secure. There are a multitude of ways that you can access and open the security drawer, it's kinda crazy. Using the included instruction book and after downloading the app on your smartphone these are all very easy to setup. Even if you decide not to utilize and use the app, you can still open the security drawer using the included key. But, to use this safe to it's full potential and access all of the features, you really need to download the app. Using the app you can setup multiple users each with their own personalized passcode and/or fingerprint. They also include a plastic fob that you could put on your keychain as well as two plastic "coins" that you can hold in front of the display to open and access the drawer. You're also able to open the drawer directly from the app. It might sound like a hassle setting everything up, but using the app is very easy and intuitive. The large front display toggles thru the year, date, time, and temperature and the whole unit is meant to be disguised as a radio/speaker which, if you didn't know any better, you would probably think it actually was. For added security, they also include a steel cable that attaches to the back of the unit which you can then use to anchor the security box to a stable or permanent structure to help deter or impede theft of the entire unit. Overall, I'm incredibly pleased with this item and I would highly recommend this security box if you have any valuables or items in your home or even your vehicle that you need secured.

No instructions, can't set fingerprint or passcode
I really wanted like this security box but it's a fail in all respects. First, it came with no instructions and after battling with it for an hour I'm just baffled. For example, it comes with an AC charger that works, but it also has a UCB-C port marked "input" that does not (see pics). Most confounding, however, is that it does not let me set a password or fingerprint. As shipped, my fingerprint opens it, so does my wife's, even though we did not set it with our prints. Inside the box are two buttons marked reset and set. But as you can see in the video, once the box opens the front panel appears to lose power (the lights go out) and pressing the reset and set buttons does nothing. It also says it comes with a handle but I could not find one and I don't see one in any of the product pictures. I could go on and on about other oddities (it's described as being "camouflaged as a modern audio speaker") but it's rather pointless if it doesn't lock and unlock properly.

some pros, some cons
I’ve been using this safe as my main one for about three weeks now and only have a couple of cons. You can’t change the date—it syncs automatically when connected to the app, but for some reason mine is stuck in 2023 and I can’t figure out how to fix it. It comes with two backup keys and needs to stay plugged in, which is a bit unsettling because if the power went out, you wouldn’t be able to get into it. I even put batteries in it, but it still doesn’t work without being plugged in. I also can’t figure out how to switch it from Celsius to Fahrenheit. That being said, the fingerprint scanner has worked 9 times out of 10, I love that it slides out when unlocked, and when you push it closed, it automatically locks. The time and date are a nice touch, and since it’s a drawer that slides out, you can place it in a lot of spots—like on your nightstand—while still using the space on top of it. It blends in nicely with the clock and digital display so you can’t always tell it’s a safe, which I like. I wish it connected better to the app and that the display was easier to calibrate, but cons aside, I’ve gotten a ton of use out of this safe and will continue to use it as my main one.
