You've opened it up and swapped parts. Nintendo doesn't know if you've damaged something in the process. Warranty is only good for a year. If your before your year mark, I'd have Nintendo fix it. If over your year, then you may as well do it. Your going to also need special tools, a lot or patience, and watch the YouTube videos. Also these batteries can explode and cause a fire. They have an adhesive tape holding them in. They are usually stuck and will require care removing. **Q: Does it bring any tools??** A: No it doesn’t Come with any tools. Just the battery. **Q: If the switch battery is bad, would it turn on while plugged in?** A: Unfortunately for me no. I even had it charged for more than 4 hours and it would not turn out. Sad how the switch was not designed to function from a direct power source. If it is then the software or hardware has a flaw. **Q: So I see that it says that this isnt a replacment battery for the joy-cons. But will they still charge if I replace the battery in the switch?** A: Yes. I replaced my switch battery. It had no impact on whether the joycons charge or not. This battery works great and holds a charge for a very long time - very happy with it. Make sure you get the Switch screwdriver to remove the tri-wing screws on the switch. Not ordering that made me wait a week to replace this battery.
