Mastering Pro Tools Effects: Getting the Most Out of Pro Tools' Effects Processors

Comprehensive, Must-Have Pro Tools & Plug In Course
Jeremy Krug's book should be required reading and mandatory course study book for truly "mastering" Pro Tools effects and Plug-Ins. Unless you are an engineer, the basic descriptions in Avid's Marketplace or Plug-in search will be an exercise in frustration and perhaps futility. You will learn all you need to know with this book. As the author points out, "mixing isn't about repairing problems, balancing level, and panning tracks across the studio field." He encourages you to experiment and use this course to enhance you knowledge and get the maximum benefits out of all that Pro Tools offers -- and Pro Tools offers a lifetime of learning. If I could recommend just one authoritative book on this subject, "Mastering Pro Tools Effects," would be the book. I have gained significant knowledge since reading this important book and continue to learn, experiment and return to the references. My book is getting worn out from overuse and I would buy it a second time when it falls apart.Don't hesitate, learn as much as you can and become an expert with these effects and plug-ins with "Mastering Pro Tools Effects."

Don't Pass It By
It is an old book but it's still very, very relevant and one of the best and only books on the topic. Don't blow it off because it's from 2012. The author knows how the effects work and since the effects are pretty much the same as they were 12 years ago, I find this book extremely useful.

Great overview and reference for the embedded Pro Tools AFX bundle.
This is an excellent manual for using the embedded Pro Tools AFX -of course its equally useful for all other native plugins, regardless of manufacture. I was looking for a ready reference guide to the PT embedded effects processors when I moved over to Pro Tools 12 (from a non-Avid DAW) - and this proved to be an excellent overview and reference.

... a required text for my class and I am glad it was
This book was a required text for my class and I am glad it was. The book is worth the money, it is a great guide and teaches you a lot. I still use the book today, it's worth every penny.

Enjoyable Read
I am learning a ton as I read this book & what I love the most is the writer has a sense of humor. A lot of the information presented is quite meaty, but the author's humor makes it bearable and helps me desire to read it over a couple of times until I understand what I am reading!

GREAT PRODUCT
If you use pro tools and want to learn about using the effects that come with pro tools this is a great book. Wish someone would write a book on effects for strike 1.5. I am a intermediate user of pro tools. Great book.

I recommend this book
Good book, especially for the amateur home recording hobbyist. Some good professional tips. Subjects are covered deeply, with clear explanations.

Excellent Resource
I have been doing live sound engineering as a side-line for semi-pro and professional bands for around 40 years, and have only recently acquired Pro-Tools primarily for doing sound tracks for video work. Whilst the transition to a DAW based system from using hardware mixing desk and outboard was relatively easy for me, I found this book to be a very useful resource not only for going over best practice and use for the many good effects included within pro-tools, but also as a refresher for the how, what, when, where and why to use them in general.
