I blew out my back window hauling debris from my property to the dump. A large branch branch cost me over a grand in new glass and labor. I figured I should get a headache rack since I have a lot of property and it needs a lot of cleaning and I sure as heck do not want to have to replace that window again. So, was it worth it. Yes! If you have a light duty truck and you use it for light duty work, this is the best "bang for the buck" your're going to get. It is not going to stop a shift from a big, heavy load but it will keep those branches and broken closet door from breaking your expensive back glass. It is not made from the finest materials (some of the steel is slightly pitted), it's fit and finish is not Chip Foose level and the paint is thinner that frog hair. This is not a designer piece and it will stand out like a sore thumb on your pretty daily driver that doesn't see a load bigger than a kids dresser from IKEA and your woman's "triple shot, no fat, chocolate chip mocha-chino" This is a great piece if you're on a budget and work your truck like a truck. Also, if you are handy with a welder, this is a great starting point. I plan on making a few additional braces and adding a couple hooks for rope and chain and coating it in bed-liner when I am done. I also plan on swapping the hardware to Grade 8 but I have a tendency to over-do things and none of this is necessary for anyone else. You could just as easily plop this on your work truck and go do truck stuff. However, If you live in an area where things have a tendency to rust, I would suggest you hit it with a few coats of paint before you install it.
