------ CAUTION ------Unfortunately, there are many bad reviews for this product because people don't understand the difference between a break-out cable (that's what this cable is), and a converter (which converts the signal, and requires some sort of signal processing via electronics).------ CAUTION ------Actual review:I just wanted to post that this cable works well with the BrightSign HD222 digital signage players. I'm using this cable to connect the player to a composite input on a TV.Just make sure you have up-to-date firmware, and that you select NTSC-M as the screen resolution (if you select this option, the color palette won't be accurate and/or the output will be distorted).If you want to connect to a composite input, then only use the blue plug to connect it to the (typical) yellow composite input port on your TV.Since S-Video and composite is pretty much the same thing, you should be able to use a simple RCA->S-Video adapter to connect the device to an S-Video port on your TV.The cable should work with other BrightSign players (as long as they support analog output via the VGA connector), and if you're in a hurry, it's MUCH cheaper to overnight it via Amazon than ordering it directly from monoprice.If you have any questions, ask away.Don't forget, this is video only, you still need to get a cable for audio output!As for quality, the cable feels very solid, with the last several inches split into individual jacks, making it easy to plug it into components/composite portsIf your media device specifications/manual does not specifically mention it supports a composite signal out via the female DE-15 VGA port, then this cable will NOT do what you want it to do.

I use this to output component video from my mister. Combined with a DAC for optical to analog audio, this is perfect for use with MiSTer on CRTs with component.

I the quality of the product and work just fine

Good quality, works perfectly with my Mister VGA output port, it gives crystal clear image on my retro CRT TV

My main reason for purchasing this cable was to connect computer to dvd player, then run output of player to TV and watch video that's on the computer.bottom line - The cable does not work to send any signal from the computer. Its not a defective cable, its just that the process for the desired purpose, this is not the cable for that. I did not return the cable because its not cost effective. Sooooooo, I have a useless cable.
