## Description

King Edward VIII Crown Coin & Stamp Display Gift Set 1936The world wide sensation caused by the abdication of the British and Empire throne by Edward VIII in 1936 is difficult to appreciate over ninety years later. Edward abdicated the throne to marry the woman he loved, American divorcée Wallis Simpson.The display, sized 15cm x 10cm, contains a medallic pattern crown, 37mm in diameter, that was struck many years after the abdication (no coins were issued for circulation for Edward VIII) plus the four short lived, but complete set, of original Edward VIII British postage stamps (these were issued before the abdication but withdrawn shortly afterwards).The coin is in UNC (Uncirculated) condition and the stamps are in unused Mint condition as issued.The product is supplied in a clear protective sleeve so both sides of the coin can be viewed.Our manufacturing process includes a precision laser cutting method to create the necessary holes in each display for the required coins to be inserted and held, safely recessed, in the correct position.
