Purple Dragon Carrot 350 Seeds - Absolutely unique!

I planted these in good soil, terrible soil, and they grew wherever they were planted the first year. I'm trying a second year, (2 years after purchasing the seeds,) and I have little doubt that they will sprout. The seeds do not come with any decent packaging, or instructions, simply a 1-1/2 square inch plastic ziploc bag and a sticker. The carrots are, however VERY tasty. Sweet in good compost soil, and sweet in nearly sterile soil. I'll be buying these seeds again, although a package of 350 seeds will last a long time since they germinate and sprout so well. The first batch I planted was sprouted in a pan with water and paper towels over them. The roots got over 2" long before I put them in the soil, yet the carrots all grew. Once in soil, they fattened up and grew in the same condition as the hair fine root I jammed into the soil, most of them curled up, and odd shapes, with a few relatively straight.(MY fault.) Update ... 2 years later, I planted some of the old seeds again, with no resulting sprouts. Buying another package so we can continue to have these purple carrots in abundance.

I never seen Purple Carrots so I ordered them for my Sister who likes to plant and grow all kinds of Fruits and Vegetables. The Seeds arrived very fast all 350 of them in a Tiny Little Plastic Bag. The Seeds were planted about two weeks before the last Frost where She lives, in deep well worked stone free soil, thin 2-3 inches apart, should not be planted in heavy Frost and from Spring to midsummer. Do not transplant as crooked roots may result. Cultivate periodically or mulch to control weeds, keep soil evenly moist, Seeds may be covered with Hessian or similar until Germination. Expect Harvests to start to occur in late Spring, This Plant likes Good Soil, Sun and Water, it takes about 75 days to grow to Maturity Purple Dragon is an Annual Plant which means it typically only grows best for a single growing Season. My Sister's Purple Dragon Carrots grew 6 to 8 Inches in Length and out of the 350 Seeds 80% Germinated, dozens of Beautiful thick Purple Dragon Carrots with a Sweet almost Spicy Flavor. Great in Salads. These Carrots contain the same amount of Antioxidants and Lycopene as Tomatoes they are good eaten raw, the Purple Skin Fades when Cooked, they are Sweet and Crisp and if you Roast them they taste very Nutty Purple Dragon Carrots Originated from the United States. To Collect the Seeds, Bag Seedheads to Capture Ripening Seeds, Allow Pods to dry on Plant, break open to Collect the Seeds. Carrot Seeds and other root Crops don't require the High Nitrogen levels found in Miracle-Gro, if you mix one part Miracle-Gro Potting Soil you can germinate Carrots in Pots. Nitrogen Levels are too High for Carrots in Full-Strength Miracle-Gro Potting Soil, besides I don't think I would want to eat them once they are treated with Chemicals! ...Thank You D.D.

It may be the extremely poor weather. In the 90's in September, and constantly wet, or crispy dry. That probably affected the germination rate in Spring. Try again w the other seed, when this heat wave breaks

These are producing like crazy!!!! I’m going to have to spread them out next year

I planted the carrots with regular carrots in big pots and they grew, and began having flowers growing , and next to them they look like weeds compared to the regular carrots. To bad I got lazy and didn't water my plants now they look like SoCal. All dry, but at least they grew right?!? they grow at a Lil slower rate than my normal carrots but it's okay. Overall I can say that it's an alright buy. I hope you get the chance to fully enjoy them.

I planted these in a container this year, I got a few good size ones and they were absolutely delicious. After I planted them I realized that my zone is too hot for them to do well. My own fault, however these guys did great. Beautiful color also.

These seeds sprout well.

Perfect every one of them popped in three days. Can’t wait to see them.
