The Basic model is meant for heavy compression. It is mainly used for Lymphedema or severe Edema. It does take time to learn to wear these correctly and put them on yourself. It takes me about 5 minutes to get this model on correctly by myself after practice and hands-on instruction by a lymphedema specialist. A slipper sock with a grip bottom is used in place of a shoe over them. You can also use Sock Stop to create a nonslip bottom directly on the wrap. This wrap holds up well, the velcro is double-sided, so it can be moved as the swelling reduces. Review: Easy solution to foot and ankle swelling - I love this product. I've been wearing a farrow wrap for awhile now and have been very pleased with the results. When I have my shoes on (laced up sneaker type shoes) my foot doesn't swell.
